About Andrea W

Hey Nerds, my name is Andrea, but online I go by Moonshot. I'm a wife and mother to three gamers-in-training. Personally I've been drawn to TTRPGs as a creative outlet that gives me a mental break from the day-to-day routine. I love to create characters and personalities and attempt to "see" the world through their eyes. I appreciate how this hobby brings people together, and I'm grateful for the friends that I've made through playing and DMing.

I enjoy a variety of nerdy activities: video games (Halo: Infinite, Mass Effect, and Baldur's Gate 3 are a few of my favorites), listening to DnD podcasts, and creating resin dice.

How Andrea W runs games

As a DM I enjoy characters of all types and personalities! I like to draw your character out and learn what makes them tick. (Definitely not to use against them in the future...) ;) Some of my favorite DnD moments are based on roleplaying. Dice can help to tell the story, but I want to hear from your character what is really at stake and am a sucker for a great character arc. I enjoy adding humor, whether that is a quick-witted merchant NPC, or a well-placed pun from the BBEG. I use rules as a framework, which can help move things forward, but not to the point of limiting player creativity. I will usually say "YES" if you come up with some out-of-the-box idea, and then set a dice roll to see if you can pull it off. I approach combat with the idea that there are always risks, but give fair warning if players are approaching something they are not reasonably ready to face. I never make it a goal to down a player, or especially to get a TPK, but safety is not guaranteed. Let the dice decide! I will happily include players of any gender, age, sexual orientation, race, religion, disability at my tables. However, because of my personal, religious beliefs there is some content that I am not comfortable including in game, including LGBTQ+ content.
