About me

I'm an activist, freelance writer, and indie game developer based out of Atlanta, Georgia. Tabletop RPGs saved my math grades in high school, and inspired my interest in game development. I very quickly found out that running games was more fun for me than playing games. My first experiences with professional GMing were running games at conventions, from Atlanta's own MomoCon to Gen Con and Origins. For me, teaching new players is one of the most fun, gratifying parts of the whole hobby. Some of my original games include Lightning War, a TTRPG about desperate battles in a fantasy world's World War II, and Murder Ballet, an unofficial John Wick RPG.

GM Style

I'm a "play to see what happens" kind of GM. I'll build out the setting, throw in a few plot hooks, and then hand the reins to you, the players. For me, half of the fun of the game is seeing how you engage and interact with my material. The story is about your characters, and the effects their actions have on the world. I don't know what's going to happen, either, and I'm just as excited to find out as you are! I learn the rules thoroughly so I know when to break them. In my opinion, if the story and the rules are clashing too often, I'm using the wrong game system. So, while I mainly stick to rules-as-written, I'm always open to making exceptions. Besides, every system has some rules that are just silly, and some rules that nobody ever remembers. My signatures as a GM include lovable disaster NPCs, complex villains, and high-stakes combat where you hold your breath before every dice roll. As a player, I cut my teeth in OSR-style campaigns, where the odds were stacked against us, and we had to get creative to survive. Whether it's combat, exploration, or roleplaying, I want you to feel like every single success is well-earned. I like my campaigns on the darker and more serious side, but always with a glimmer of hope. The truly good characters are few and far between, but it's equally rare to find a villain who's beyond redemption. Your characters have the power to change things, and the darkness of the world makes your heroics shine brighter by comparison.
