About Mini
Hi, I'm Mini. I first started playing DnD with my college friends in 2015, but didn't truly get into it until 2020 due to the pandemic. I've recently picked up GM-ing as well—I've always loved writing stories, and being able to share my world and let others shape it feels incredibly rewarding. I've recently started dipping my toes outside of DnD into other tabletop games as well, and I'm really excited to play with others and exchange our experiences and ideas!

I became a GM because
I want to share stories with others and love to see how they react to the situations presented to them.
The three words my players would use to describe me are...
Enigmatic, dynamic, resourceful
When I'm not running games I'm...
probably sleeping. Or working—but probably sleeping. I also play RPGs and MMOs occasionally, and write fiction from time to time. But I'm probably asleep.
How Mini runs games
I focus on presenting deep and challenging moral choices, intricate characters with complex motivations, and combat situations that reward both tactical thinking and imaginative problem-solving. World-building is my favorite part of the game. I want my players to feel like the world is alive, that the characters within it are real, and to truly give an illusion of a world where you can escape to. This can sometimes mean that certain characters have ulterior motives and overarching plots that may not become immediately apparent, but I believe it makes for an even better story when the pieces finally start to fall together dozens of sessions in. In terms of rules, I'd say that I'm quite RAI - I don't focus on the exact wording of the rules and the potential loopholes it may create, but more on what is intended, what is balanced, and what is fun. I don't often go out of my way to bend the rules, but don't be afraid to ask "DM, can I...?"

I deal with rules issues by...
searching up the rule. If I cannot search it up within a reasonable time, say, 30s, I'll make a ruling on the spot and put a pin on it for after the session so we can revisit the rule later and not slow down the game.
Rules are...
a great guideline for people to follow and to have everyone on the same level. But rules also exist to be broken. Sometimes.
When it comes to voices
I am not very proficient in them, but that doesn't stop me from trying.
Mini's ideal table
I'd love to have players who are passionate about their characters, the world they play in, and who have an innate curiosity about the events and characters they're surrounded by.

I think min/maxing...
is a valid way to play. I understand people wanting to optimize their characters. I think it's a fair strategy to be used both by the players but also against them.
