My name is Micah, and I am excited to take you through an unforgettable journey. My specialty is collaborative worldbuilding. After creating a world together with the players (usually with a game of The Quiet Year), I design custom campaigns around player backstories, goals, and relationships. Your story is always the heart of the game. With over a decade of GMing experience I can easily teach any game system to new players, and I have experience running games for new players, LGBT+ groups, all female groups, and families. GM Style

I believe in placing the player at the heart of the game. You should be allowed to have a say in the creation and backstory of the world. The backstory that you create should define the events of the story. I like to start new campaigns by playing a session of The Quiet Year, a world building game where players create the a map of the local area and the events leading up to the start of the campaign. Then, we'll work together to create characters with deep backstories rooted in the world you created. When the campaign starts, every event will flow from the shared history you created with the other players. While I mostly run the game Rules As Written, I put the story first. If a rule is breaking immersion or getting in the way of a cool story beat, we will set it aside in favor of the fiction and the rule of cool. Even my own preparation shouldn't get in the way of the story. Have you ever had a GM say "well, I prepared this encounter so you have to do it."? Not me. I once spent days outlining story beats for a campaign, and then my players outsmarted and killed the BBEG in the second session. I laughed my butt off and re-wrote the entire campaign. That is how dedicated to your story I am. While some games may feature dramatic and tense moments, I believe these should be broken up by lighthearted moments and comic relief. Everyone should be able to come to the table relaxed and be comfortable no matter their level of roleplay experience. If something isn't working, my players are always welcome to come talk to me. I am open to all comments and criticisms, and will never respond in a harsh or judgmental manor. My table is a safe place for all players, and I don't tolerate Intolerance.
