About Merlin
Howdy, everyone! You can call me Merlin, and I’m thrilled to host and play some D&D games with you! I’m always looking to expand into new things, and rather than just going on about what I’d do differently, I’d love to hear what you are interested in! This is a bit of a unique approach, but below, you’ll find synopses of a few homebrew worlds I’ve created. If none of these pique your interest, feel free to reach out—I’d be happy to set up something custom just for you! Genespire A network of kingdoms embroiled in political intrigue, Genespire unfolds in Seyra, a world steeped in both ancient and emerging magics. Here, castle-states clash amid a world that’s only recently opened up to them, as racism and life’s harsher realities weigh on all who inhabit it. Your characters are known as the Chosen, a group marked apart by mysterious towers called “Spires.” While some worship these Spires as gods, others dismiss them as metal giants with no purpose. Journey through this land to uncover the reason behind the Spires’ existence and the metallic wonders that loom across the landscape. Floria Ever wondered what life would be like in a noir fairytale setting, reminiscent of Telltale’s A Wolf Among Us? In Floria, you’ll explore a world filled with both fantastical and grimly dark reimaginings of classic characters. Delve into the secrets of New Fairyland, known to locals as “New Fairy,” where the shadow of the Overlords and the threat of the FableFade hang heavily over everyday life. Valora A vast realm made up of formerly peaceful, interconnected planes, Valora centers on a kingdom’s slow unraveling. Work with your party to uncover the mysteries behind the Culls—strange towers scattered across the world that generate dungeons within them. These ancient structures may hold the remnants of former gods, hinting at a divine history now lost to the people who call Valora home (with the exception of certain classes, of course!).

People are always surprised when I tell them
I'm the youngest of 12, I am number 12.
The three words my players would use to describe me are...
Deciding to ask my list of Current players here's what I got. Skarot: "Omniscience on default settings", "Diet God Soda", and my personal favorite, "How'd you get in my house." Kaz: "Three Positive Adjectives" Pengu: "Easy, Breezy, Beautiful, butter." Yoki: "**Swearing in french**"

How Merlin runs games
I love to RP, and have plenty of time to hang out and do extra with people, I spend MUCH of my time establishing characters to make the world plenty of fun, and have been noted to carry a good handed experience, as such I try to push that forwards to all of my players! If you're interested in a possible future campaign reach out! I would appreciate it!

My games focus on...
Hard in-world stories as well as delving into character stories and how they connect, I Prefer to get people to interact with the world by spending a SUBSTANTIAL amount of time with them so that they can see and understand more about it, especially in HB settings which is what I specialize in!
Rules are...
Very loose, they're nice to have as bones but sometimes they can be too constrictive! I love things to work together, however it's entirely dependent on how well the main rules will keep the game running that will determine how tightly I'll hold to them!
When it comes to voices
The more the merrier! I enjoy voice acting in my Free Time! As well as hearing what other people bring to the table! I tend to play online so even a voice changer is pretty fun too!
Merlin's ideal table
I enjoy looking for people who are going to have a good time and have fun! I should specify wanting these two things is not entirely exclusive as players who are about having fun as well as an in-depth story is a blast! Especially if the time is given to do stuff for/with people!

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table
Roleplay, high-depth story, LONG-cons, tightly nit groups.
I love it when a player
is descriptive with spells, how they attack in combat, and of course goofy actions that require me to think on my feet as a DM!
I think it's a red flag when players...
Consistently insert themselves into other players activities and scenes, disallowing others from doing things on their own.
