About Kate (Mask of Many Faces)

I’m a narrative-first Dungeon Master who thrives on character-driven stories, emotional depth, and a healthy dose of chaos. If you love cinematic roleplay, morally complex choices, and a world that evolves with your party’s every misstep and miracle, you’ll feel right at home at my table. I specialise in creating inclusive, immersive experiences where your characters aren’t just adventurers, they’re part of a living, breathing story. Whether you want to redeem a disgraced bloodline, build a cult out of kobolds, or accidentally charm a fey queen with the wrong love potion, I’ll help you make it unforgettable. As a neurodiverse storyteller, I prioritise psychological safety, clear communication, and collaborative worldbuilding. My tables are queer-friendly, player-focused, and built to celebrate your creativity, not constrain it. Let’s tell the kind of story you’ll still be talking about years from now. I am currently accepting offers to run specific campaign modules published on D&DBeyond. Reach out for more info!

How Kate (Mask of Many Faces) runs games

My GM style is narrative-rich, collaborative, and emotionally engaging. I prioritise immersive roleplay, character growth, and dynamic worldbuilding, where your choices ripple outward and shape the world around you. I run games like a living storybook: full of heart, humor, and high stakes. Expect complex NPCs, unexpected twists, and story arcs that evolve alongside your characters. I love weaving player backstories into the main narrative and giving your characters space to struggle, shine, and transform. I balance moments of cozy downtime with high-drama tension, and I’m not afraid to lean into the weird, the whimsical, or the wonderfully tragic. My games make room for both silly chaos (like kobold cults and miscast alchemy) and serious emotional beats (like legacy, loyalty, and inner conflict). Accessibility and inclusion are central to my tables. I value safety tools, session zero planning, and clear communication. My goal is to create a space where players of all identities and experience levels can feel seen, supported, and empowered to tell amazing stories.

I love it when a player

works with their party members to make interesting combinations of combat abilities. A great example of this was 2 players using their characters' abilities (spike growth, thorn whip and swarm) to create basically a cheese grater, that destroyed a shambling mound without causing the PCs any damage.
