About Dungeon Master Loki
Hi, I'm Loki, and I run a very inclusive - beginner friendly and LGBTQIA friendly - table. I fell in love with gaming during a protracted stay in Children's Hospital of New Orleans in 1979 and have been rolling dice and sitting in the DM's chair ever since. I'm a massive Planescape fan, and spent 15 years as co-manager of Planewalker. I've also had my work published in over 40 game products since 2012 as a game designer. I prefer ongoing campaigns and epic storylines, but can easily arrange single evening one-shots by request. My home game has been running since 1979 and won Campaign of the Year in 2011 on Obsidian Portal. If you have a type of game you want, let me know! I'd love to help you make that game come to life! I also really enjoy teaching people to play, and can schedule intro sessions for those just learning to play. New players are not just the lifeblood of the hobby, but also often bring a fresh perspective to the table as well.

How Dungeon Master Loki runs games
I tend to adapt my DM style to the group at the table, although there is always a heavy element of role playing. I prefer intricate plots and multiple factions, but am quite at home with an old school hack and slash. Most sessions are pure Theater of the Mind, although I do use battle maps and tokens for particularly complicated or evocative combats. I try to keep the digital tools to a minimum and let our collaborative storytelling carry the game. At its best gaming is collaborative storytelling. In ongoing campaigns my players have a direct hand in the worldbuilding and are given extensive agency. Contributions to the world in the form of art, letters, etc are generally rewarded in game.
