About Asis

We open on a young girl in the heart of India's capital, getting lost in her daydreams and imagination. In a few years, she will find out about a form of imagination with other people, using dice and characters and storytelling. Then, she'll play her first game of D&D. Eventually she'll find many indie RPGs, play games on stream, and find a community of fellow TTRPG enthusiasts. That girl is me! I'm Asis, a queer and neurodivergent TTRPGer from India! I've been playing for about 9 years now, and started dipping my toes into GMing 5ish years ago. I've been a part of many, many actual play streams over the past 4 years, both as player and as GM. I am currently part of many APs both long and short, as well as a couple of home games. I was part of Godkiller: Qismat, a multi-lingual AP that has won multiple webfest awards; as well as Echoed Dimensions, India's first studio-shot AP. My favourite systems are Thirsty Sword Lesbians and the DIE RPG, and I also have a lot of experience with rules-light mini RPGs. I hope to see you at my table!

Playing games! Whether it's my home games, Actual Plays, or video/board games. I also spend a lot of time taking naps and entertaining my dog!

How Asis runs games

🪄 Roleplay and storytelling focus over anything else. I want to see my players have cool moments, tense interactions, and heartfelt conversations. 🎭 Theatre of the mind, with images, maps, and tokens sometimes used to supplement the scene we create in our heads. ❓ I love to improvise, so I am all too happy for players to swerve off the planned path. 🤡 I am a known insufferable jokester, and will pepper in comedy and light moments when appropriate. 🌈 All are welcome at my table, and the use of Safety Tools is very important to me. My main goal at every table is that the players feel safe and comfortable and are able to have an enjoyable storytelling experience with me.

I prep by

Writing down the main villains and plot threads, making a couple of large-scale game clocks, coming up with a handful of NPCs (ideally with a couple pointers and a pun name), and then re-reading the whole GM section of whatever system I'm running.

My games focus on...

Emotions and stories! I want my players to be able to tell the stories about their PCs that they want, and I want my own storytelling to facilitate emotions whether it's something funny or deeply heartbreaking.

When it comes to voices

I try my best! I can't do accents but I often try different voices. I want to try voice acting some day so I will occasionally just pull out a voice I've never tried before just for the experience!
