About Leods
Hello there! Not Obi-wan, but Leods, your humble narrator (if you want me to be). I am cis, bisexual, and fully respectful of all identities. I am a 21 year old argentinian guy, about as nerd and geek as you can get and lover of basically every type of fantasy (and ~70% of sci-fi). I have years of experience as a DM, both for PbP and synchronous campaigns. I love writing, reading, playing video games and sometimes playing some music. But most importantly, I love game design and ttrpgs!so I genuinely believe I can be a good DM for you

I ran my first game...
February 1, 2023. After just a few months of playing on my PbP discord group, I decided to try my hand at it and see what it was all about. While I've learned and grown a lot, I can now see just how much of what would be my style was already there. Very nostalgic, ngl.
My favorite books are
Stormlight archive and Mistborn for sure, just everything Cosmere. But I also loved the Dark Tower, and for a long period of my life I was oathsworn and loyal to Riordan
When I'm not running games I'm...
At university; playing videogames like WoW, Warframe, Dark Souls or MtG, reading some fantasy novel; or going down some rabbit hole of either those games and books or more DM prep
How Leods runs games
I am a flexible GM, with a defined style/preference but able to work with other playstyles and adapt to my players. My games are usually focused on narration, as I aim to build an engaging and interesting world and then nudge my players to create their own story inside it. You can expect lots of roleplay and complex and tense scenarios, sprinkled with rare but very tactical and challenging combats here and there. I believe that combat should always be a tool to heighten the story, and therefore challenge is essential to it without turning the game into a meat grinder (unless that's what the story is about!) I tend to default to following the rules as they're written, unless i have a reason not to. They were written by game designers with more knowledge than me, after all. However, I can recognize the flaws within a system, and I can and do modify them by using custom rulings or adding new stuff as I see fit. More importantly, I understand that the rules are, also, a tool for the story. If a rule would completely stop what is otherwise a great plot for one of my players, I will often look away or bend the rules a little to allow it. So my games do overall respect the structure of the system I'm playing, but I like to aim for Rule of Cool within that structure

I deal with rules issues by...
A quick look-up if we're unsure, followed by a proposed ruling if there's no clarification. If the proposal isn't accepted, I will ask the player about what they'd like and try to figure out an arrangement
My games focus on...
Telling a deep and complex story, with your characters as the main focus, aimed at developing them and letting them have influence over the world
Rules are...
A flawed but stable and fun framework, that allows for great stories to be told but can be built upon and upgraded by someone with experience and knowledge about the system
Leods's ideal table
My ideal players would love to think and discuss in character, figuring out their own path through the story and taking matters seriously during serious moments, yet goofing during chill scenes or outside the game. They should have preferences similar to mine, very into roleplay and some uncommon but heavy combat once in a while

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table
Deep stories, detailed roleplay and tense combat
I love it when a player
Gets invested into their character and the story, giving me ideas or concepts outside the game and trying to take part of the story more than strictly necessary
I think min/maxing...
Is a valid playstyle, so long as everyone agrees with it. I will often encourage players to optimize their characters within the boundaries of what makes sense for the story, to help strengthen the fantasy
