About Julian
I've been playing Dungeons and Dragons for 45+ years, loving the game of "cause and effect" and the endless potential of storytelling and adventure! I have spent the past few years exploring Virtual Table Top gaming platforms, refining and getting the process whittled down to what I do and do not like about the ecosystem and the tools used for play (sound, maps, rule sets, automating processes, etc.). I've been playing with remote groups for a few years now and have found I really like the interactions and zany ideas players can come up with, and I am looking forward to getting involved in the community, games, hosting, and seeing what happens!

I became a GM because
as kids, we shared the responsibility in our group of players as we all learned and the game was growing
My favorite books are
The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings saga, Elric of Melnibone saga, and the Dying Earth series by Jack Vance
How Julian runs games
I build game worlds grounded in clear, collaborative house rules that everyone agrees on up front. My sessions focus on rich role-playing, highly tactical combat, whether in 2D or 3D environments, and compelling, layered storylines full of intrigue and mystery. There are always multiple paths forward, and not every challenge will be at your level… sometimes, the smart move is to run. If you’re looking for a tabletop experience that blends the immersion of a story-driven RPG with the excitement of strategic gameplay—without getting bogged down by endless charts and bookkeeping—my games are for you. I run everything from one-shots to epic, multi-year campaigns and am happy to tailor content to fit your group’s interests. I also offer regular check-ins to make sure everyone stays engaged and is having a great time.

Rules are...
Here to serve us, not for us to serve them. Rules help us give form to this complicated game of pretend we are embarking on, yet some of them just don't fit all situations, and they will be made to serve the story and the group at large for the most part.
Julian 's ideal table
I enjoy open dialogue between the players, rather than one player dominating the talk space and stifling role-play.
