About Jase
Hi, I'm Jase from South West Australia and I'm into metal, mushrooms and mythology. I got into ttRPG's in the 90s as a teen and fell in love with settings like Planescape, Dark Sun and Vampire: The Dark Ages. I was drawn back to the hobby by Critical Role and I've been running online games now for over 10 years and recently decided to try it as a side-hustle. I listen to a lot of metal music, audio books, NADDpod and Glass Cannon shows as I go about my day job as a fungi farmer. My games are LGBTQ+ friendly 🏳️🌈 and I don't tolerate bigotry or bullshit at the table.

How Jase runs games
There's nothing more fun as a GM than rushing to deliver a Big Bad monologue while the party tries their hardest to cut the villain down! And it's always an interesting challenge to try and voice the many beasts, messengers, familiars and animal pal menageries that inevitably form around an adventuring party. But there's a certain tactical itch that only a good knock-down, drag-out fight on a battle map can scratch! As a player I have definitely felt this itch after a few too many talky scenes in a row hah. I have a large bank of bespoke battle maps I'm always eager to break out! Each party has their own tastes regarding combat and role play but I believe I have the experience and skill necessary to swing the focus in either direction in service of the group. My number one priority as a GM is to incorporate the players into the story I'm telling. I want my players to feel pumped and excited to inhabit their characters and leave behind the real world for a few hours! I respect the rule of cool and tend to run in a Rules as Intended style but my true measure of how well a game is going is in the laughter. Most of my happiest memories from these games involve a lot of laughing and good cheer, even playing in the grimmest of grim dark settings.

I deal with rules issues by...
having a quick back and forth then deciding on a ruling and continuing the game. If there is still some debate or confusion, I'll put a pin in it and hunt down the appropriate rules to clarify before the next game.
My favorite trope is...
haggling with hags. Convincing the players to take the too-good-to-be-true bargain when their every instinct is to run screaming. And it's always fun doing a crone's cackle.
