About InspiredGM
I've been rolling dice since 1st edition AD&D in the mid-1980s, and have been a Game Master since 5th edition launched — running hundreds of in-person and online sessions across that time. When I'm not at my own table, I represent tabletop RPG publishers at conventions like GenCon, Origins, and PAX Unplugged, introducing new and experienced players to game systems and settings from across the hobby. At the table, I care about craft. I build epic custom terrain, hand-make wooden dice trays and GM screens, and put real thought into the physical and atmospheric experience of play. If you love fantasy, science fiction, and the kind of storytelling that only happens when a group of people sit down together — you're in the right place.

I got started GMing...
to rekindle a love for TTRPGs when I did not have others willing to run games for my family and friends. I'm the type of person to learn how something works so everyone else can easily join in on the fun. Getting people around the table to share in telling a fun story has been a passion for decades.
My favorite books are
Dune Series, Dragonlance Series, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
When I'm not running games I'm...
splitting with between my family and long list of interests and hobbies. I spend much time outdoors with nature, mostly in wooded areas. I love building things with my hands such as custom woodworked gaming accessories, tabletop terrain and furniture. I'm into anything that builds communities.
How InspiredGM runs games
Whether you're sitting down at a tabletop RPG for the first time or you're a veteran looking to min-max your way through iconic encounters, my table has a place for you. I've run campaigns across every skill level, including giving plenty of "Forever GMs" their first real chance to sit on the player side of the screen. My default is rule-of-cool. When there's a choice between the technically correct option and the more interesting one, I'll take interesting every time. I narrate in first person to keep immersion high, though I shift to third person when clarity or pacing calls for it. Every group brings different energy and expectations, and I genuinely enjoy when players take the story somewhere unexpected. If you want a table where the dice can cause real chaos and the story can go off the rails in the best possible way, that's exactly what I'm here for.

I deal with rules issues by...
making a ruling that allows the game to move forward for the session. I then research the issue outside of the game and if the ruling is determined to be incorrect after the fact, I'll let the players know about the correction and amend the situation in a future session.
When it comes to voices
I'm comfortable speaking in-character or in third person. Whichever will move the game forward and encourage engagement with the players will be the way to go in the moment. I typically prepare a few first person lines and a list of traits for my NPCs to help get into character.
InspiredGM's ideal table
My ideal table is one where players engage with each other as much as the story itself by building on each other's choices, playing off the unexpected, and leaning into whatever the moment calls for. I love designing challenges and plot twists, but the best sessions happen when the players take the story somewhere I didn't see coming. If you enjoy group storytelling and creating memorable moments together, pull up a chair!

I love it when a player
engages with the other players at the table in a collaborative way. I play with a rule of cool approach to the rules, a yes-and approach to roleplaying and creative ways to solve problems in-game.
My table is not the place for...
player vs player, bad vibes, min/maxing and purely tactical combat. Let's have fun creating stories together!
