How Steve - Leoline runs games

I normally set the scene and let the players explore, I very rarely if ever lead the party through the adventure by the nose. I encourage Roleplay both between players and in the story. Just because the groups mission is to do X does not mean you can't get sidetracked into doing Y and Z also. I have even let parties go so far off the rails, they forgot their original goals and entire worlds paid the price for it. The story is made for you, so it is up to you to explore the world.

I prep by having four to five sessions ahead of where the characters are, with everything laid out and ready to roll. I am always happy when players take a hard right turn and decided to do something other than the direct mission.

My games focus on...

Story, I am a huge fan of Story, back story and players choosing to do their own things. I encourage people to interact with everything npc, whole towns anything that you can think of if it makes sense I can help you bring it to fruition.

Rules are...

I view the rules more like guidelines, I have no problem changing, adjusting, adding , or helping players make their own unique paths in my world.

I want players that are not afraid to have fun, to joke around and just relax. I am not really looking for hard core rules followers as I tend to improvise quite a lot while playing.
