About horrorwoodgm
Greetings adventurer! My name is Michael (they/them) and I am a ✨ master of the gaming ✨ I am a lover of all things fantasy, and I have been playing 5th edition Dungeons and Dragons since it was released. I have also become familiar with Knave 2e, the Jim Henson's Labyrinth ttrpg (a personal favorite), and Dungeons and Dragons 3.5e. I am a rule-of-cool, LGBTQIA+ friendly, homebrew loving GM who loves to collaborate with my players to breathe life into the worlds that we create. I love being able to say "you can absolutely try" to the wild and wacky ideas my players come up with, and figuring out ways to make it work. As a GM, I strive to create an immersive and enjoyable experience for each and every one of my players. I may be terrible at accents and not know how most spells work without looking it up (Eldritch Blast is easy, ok), but I promise, you will have a wonderful time sitting at my table. More about me: I am a writer, collector, amateur photographer, storyteller, and adventurer. I am in my early 20s, but was lucky enough to be introduced to Dungeons & Dragons 3.5e when I was a kid (probably too young to be playing, honestly) and have been a player and occasional dungeon master ever since. I spend my summer weekdays working at a state park and my summer weekends dancing, singing, and spending far too much money at the Colorado Renaissance Festival. In the winter, I work odd jobs and wait for the snow to go away so I can go back to doing what I love. I am getting married in 2030 to my girlfriend, my starlight, who I am sure you will hear a lot about (not sorry). I often play Dead by Daylight, Red Dead Online, and Minecraft in my spare time, and I am looking at starting to stream on Twitch in the next year.

How horrorwoodgm runs games
About my games: In the last five years, the two fifth-edition campaigns I have become the most familar with are Curse of Strahd (my favorite) and Rise of Tiamat. I have also created one fully-fleshed homebrew 5e campaign based off of ancient Egyptian mythology and concepts for about a dozen more homebrew campaigns. I usually like to play with a group of no more than 6 players, and find that I enjoy myself most when I am seated at the table with other young queer folk. I have run sessions as short as an hour apiece and as long as ten hours, but I always enjoy some good text-based out-of-session roleplay between sessions as well. You can expect each player character to get a full, well-developed character arc throughout the course of the campaign, and during each session there will be loads of time for roleplay and character moments as well. Pricing for sessions is somewhat flexible, but as this is my major source of income over the off-season months, I try not to go under $15 per session. Our sessions will be hosted in discord in a private server. Sessions will only be recorded and/or streamed with everyone's written permission, and never shared to social media without permission from every participant.
