About me

Hello! My name is Hayden and I’ve been playing Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition for 3 years and have loved every bit of it. I’m very passionate about this hobby and I cherish the memories I have made around the table with my friends. I have decided to become a full time Dungeon Master in hopes of creating more memories and meeting new people who share my passion for this hobby. I’ve been Dungeon Master for 2 years now and it’s been the most fun I’ve had playing TTRPGs. Leading my players through a fleshed out world and creating these awesome experiences and memories for them is what I love most about being a DM. I’m definitely a world builder, but I also stay faithful to the source material if I’m running a pre-written adventure, whether it’s an official Dungeons and Dragons 5E adventure, or a third party 5E compatible adventure. I love doing voices for my NPCs, and I’m by no means a voice actor, but I go to great lengths to make each NPC feel unique and fleshed out. Besides giving players the tools to create awesome and fun experiences, my other favorite part of being a DM is lore building. I love to flesh out NPCs, locations, items, and even some of the lore itself of pre-written adventures, to really make the adventures I run come to life. Whether it’s describing the gold pin an NPC is wearing that has a raven engraved into it, or the frayed edges of an old, but otherwise elegant rug, I love making these aspects of the adventures come to life and feel more immersive and meaningful. I do follow the rules of D&D 5E, but I’m not a rules lawyer. If something doesn’t seem fair or doesn’t work with my group, then by all means, let’s figure out a way to make it fair and make sense! I do however, always follow the most important rule, which is to make sure everyone is having fun. I will do everything I can to accommodate all of my players to ensure everyone is achieving what they set out to do by playing D&D- which is to have fun! I welcome all players, from all walks of life, and I look forward to meeting new people, and giving you all a fun experience with me as your Dungeon Master!

GM Style

I’m a huge world builder and I love adding lore to the adventures I run, but I do stay faithful to the source material and only home brew if I feel it will make my adventures really come to life and feel more immersive. I give each NPC a unique voice, and add details about their appearance to really make them stand out. I also make combat more immersive and describe what my monsters do, such as “the zombie slowly lurches towards you, arms stretched out, the smell of rotten flesh and decay is nauseating”. I also encourage my players to do the same, and describe what their actions look like and I’m a big advocate of the “how do you want to see this monster die” component of battle. I feel it gives players more agency and makes combat more interesting!
