About Jared - DM JT
Hey fellow table top gamers! My name is Jared, I've enjoyed playing various Table Top Games over the last 20 years and have been playing in-person table top role playing games, the last 2.5 years, and been a DM for the last year and a half. My favorite part of being a DM is helping new players get the hang of role playing games, and creating stories as a group. I do enjoy combat from time to time, but I think it is most fun when players help build the story through role play. My favorite live play to watch is Legends of Avantris.

I got started GMing...
after my main group got too busy and I wanted to play more. At one point I was running 8 active campaigns.
When I'm not running games I'm...
Hanging out with my kids, visiting Diseyland, or prepping for my next session while listening to Legends of Avantris.
How Jared - DM JT runs games
I like games that are a balance of both roleplay and combat, but I have had sessions that have no combat in it. I tend to run games that are goal oriented so the world may not be a wide sandbox, but do give players choices. I do like to have high-stakes and play out consequences to keep things interesting. I'm probably not a good fit for those players that would be min/maxers or ones that enjoy to meta game. I'm here to have fun with the players not versus the players.

I deal with rules issues by...
having a quick dialog, refer to the book if necessary, but deciding on what is specifically best for the situation. Issues will come up, and I'll be open with my interpretation of the rule. Sometimes the Rule of Cool is better then the Rules as Written.
If my games were Movies they'd be directed by...
James Gunn or Edgar Wright. They have a fun mix of characters, and stories that have a good balance of comedy, adventure, action, and story telling, especial when things don't go as planned.
Rules are...
important to have, keep the game on track, players safe and make sense in a fantasy world. But, I believe the rule of cool can make the game more fun for players and DMS.
