I became a GM because
Most likely started in the same way everyone started: a group of friends wanted to play D&D and we needed a DM, thus the saga of the #ForeverGM began. Real talk though - I love storytelling. I love taking people on a journey and seeing them lose themselves in the adventure.
My 3 systems I'd bring to a desert island would be
Dungeons & Dragons, Mutants & Masterminds, AGE
When I'm not running games I'm...
LARPing, Camping, Lifting, Reading, Crafting, or Playing a cozy game.
How HalfGiantAtlas runs games
I primarily focus on story and roleplay, with a good peppering of combat thrown in. I like a balanced game and I like to have my players tell the story as much as me. We all build the story together, I just got it started. So what do you say? Wanna tell a story with me?

My games focus on...
Story. I want to tell a story with my friends. That's it. I don't see the game as a dm vs pc fight montage, I see it as a collaboration. You tell me what you see. I'll tell you what could be there. We go back and forth. This is what keeps the story so good
Rules are...
...there for a reason, but can also take a backseat to what makes sense to the story. I like to keep the rules as a basic skeleton, but have the muscles be created by both the players and myself. If you can tell me how it would make sense, I'll probably let it happen.
When it comes to voices
I love voices and different character energy. Am I the greatest actor in the world? No. But I have fun with it :)
HalfGiantAtlas's ideal table
First and foremost - my tables are a place of safety and inclusion. If there are players who just want to "win" the game at any cost, players who refuse to listen to boundaries, players who want to be the main character - I'm probably not the right GM for you. I want to keep a space in which everyone feels comfortable to express themselves and just have fun playing the game.

I am for a vibe that's...
loose and fun, but also focused on gameplay. I don't want to try to heard a bunch of rabid squirrels, but I also like to have a good time
My perfect party mix is
A good mix of folks who like combat and folks who like puzzles and exploration. If both of those types can roleplay their characters well? Chef's kiss.
My table is not the place for...
Main characters, backseat GMs, and anyone who doesn't respect player boundaries.
