About Griphaenox
Hey there! Welcome to my page. I have been DMing for a few years now, loving the stories crafted, the experiences made, and sharing the spotlight with each player. Although I am trying out a new way to create worlds and campaigns and hoping to bring other creative people to shape the world right from the start, I am going to start by running some short published adventures to get more experience and expand on them. Come on in!

My favorite books are
There are quite a few of them. Of course, most anything from Brandon Sanderson, but I enjoy a lot of other ones, like Artemis Fowl, most mystery books, and some science fiction books. I'd encourage you to check out Septimus Heap and the Hundred Cupboards as those are favorites too!
When I'm not running games I'm...
Thinking about games I'm running, games I want to run, or games I have run. I also work to pay the bills, which is no fun. I read a lot, watch videos to enhance my games, and write for my games and the stories I tell.
How Griphaenox runs games
I enjoy crafting living, breathing worlds rife with content and arching stories, believing that level 20 is not the end of the road. I would love to try to mix up the way DnD is played, keeping it fresh and new. For me, DnD is about coming together to make stories and have fun, so those are what I focus on. I do tend to focus on roleplaying, with some puzzles and narratively important fights, though I am working to include more combat as it is warranted. I have been playing for about 5 years now, and I intend to continue. I have even made a part of it my educational career, focusing on how our world works so I can translate it into the worlds I make. I tend to go more RAW, but rule of cool can convince me to make interesting scenarios. I enjoy worldbuilding and am working to institute some ideas to make it that much better.

My games focus on...
The stories that organically come out of the settings and the characters. The characters feel more impactful in the game and their choices do matter.
Rules are...
Designed to enhance play, not bog it down. If someone wants more gritty and realistic settings, more rules to guide play in that way is necessary. If someone wants more fantastical and super heroic settings, the rules can be flexible to allow more epic moments.
Griphaenox's ideal table
At my table, I strive to include all players and all characters, ensuring that the focus and spotlight is shared. I enjoy collaboration between all at the table, with roleplay and exploration as more important. I believe that combat should have a purpose and be impactful, as well as ways to avoid combat. I do tend to be more laid back at the table, wanting camaraderie and socializing to occur more naturally.
