About Rob
Hi and Welcome I returned from a long break to TTRPGs, experimented with D&D but my head has been turned by Call of Cthulhu and a range of other games with real roleplaying opportunities. As I am coming back to Keeping/DMing/GMing I am learning. I may not be perfect, I will make mistakes. Hopefully this creates a no-pressure fun/learning environment for you too. I try to work from a players’ point of view. My adventures are about engaging you in the story. So you can make informed decisions, work out the consequences, enjoy the story, figure out the NPCs and (kill monsters/Run away/go insane/roll another character). Happy for people to roleplay or just describe what they do. I hope to create a safe environment for all players. Everyone is welcome.

How Rob runs games
I use a healthy mix of role-play, investigation, and a little combat. I use mostly theatre of the mind, maps (displayed in discord) as visual aids. What excites me is seeing players absorbed and engaged in the story. I encourage my players get immersed in the game but you don’t have to be an actor or even roleplay if you don’t want. Most games have a mix of people acting the part or describing what their character does as well as players who imagine the situation and state their actions simply. Both work and are great fun.

I once ran a session...
with publish authors for Chaosium, famous podcasters and people working for Chaosium. Scary but fun.
My games focus on...
roleplaying situations both between players and players and NPCs

I try for important NPCs

The general vibe is serious fun with spontaneous humour to relieve the tension. We try to create an atmosphere where people are mostly in character. Meta conversation are ok but a last resort when your character can express the issue. If you are lore mad then look elsewhere. I twist and forget lore to suit the story we are creating.

I love it when a player
lose themselves in the story with the other players and I can just listen in.
I think metagaming...
has a place but having your character express the situation is more fun.
I think min/maxing...
creates a boring story.
