About me

I started playing RPGs in 2000, just as D&D 3e came out. Since then I have played all editions after 3e as well as Pathfinder 1e, World of Darkness, and Serenity RPG (Cortex system). I have been storytelling/DMing for a number of years in person and across Discord and Roll20. I have a degree in theatre and work on the technical side. RPGs are my creative outlet. However, that irregular schedule does not allow a consistent time for a regular group. I wasn't even aware of StartPlaying until one of my players told me how much they enjoy the game I am running and recommended StartPlaying as an option for supplemental income. I am a very patient DM, who loves teaching the game to new players in low level campaigns. The journey to the upper levels is the best part of any adventure. The danger feels more real when your party can't easily resurrect or revivify or just has less hit points to gamble with.

GM Style

I love role-playing and differentiating NPCs with voices and mannerisms. However, fair warning, I am not a voice actor. A quick pop-culture/Broadway musical reference does have a tendency to slide into my games. My combat style is quick and loose. Yes, we adhere to the rules of the system, but we're not going to get bogged down and spend hours on a single combat. The best part of RPGs are the interactions between player characters and other PC and/or NPCs. The funny quips and moments that organically arise.

He's a very adaptive DM who seems to be able to work out solutions to problems when need be. He works with the plans that the players set up and keeps them active. Also knows how to keep things moving. I enjoy being dm'd by him.
