About Xamos
Hello World! What stories are in store for today? ________________ Hi, I'm Xamos. And I look tremendously forward to your characters. They are the main ingredient in the imaginary world we co-create. Does your Warrior belong to an order? Who wronged your Ranger, who messed with your Rogue? Which far-away homeland is your Sorcerer from, and what is the most visible cultural difference? These details leave ripples in the pond of the adventure and influence where it goes. A crystalline fractal of how's and why's branching out, for you to uncover, explore, and influence your character decisions. Your question about how things are and what your character knows molds as much of the world as my preparations. Systems I have run extensively: The Dark Eye 4.1., Splittermond, D&D5e (so much!), Fantasy Age, Coriolis, Candela Obscura, Daggerheart Don't get me started on the smaller Systems, too numerous to count. If you made it this far, take a hope and clear a stress, or take inspiration. You earned it. See you soon!

I got started GMing...
... by telling interactive stories with my best friend during school breaks all the time!
People are always surprised when I tell them
... that they get to describe the aspect of the world they just asked a question about. Yes, go ahead! You got this one.
When I'm not running games I'm...
... working as an engineer, going to the gym, or watching Dimension20 and Critical Role with my partner on our sofa.
How Xamos runs games
My philosophy about rules is the following: to break them, you have to master them first. Because having mastered them, together we now can break them safely, in order to bring your ideas to life. My philosophy about story is: the story belongs to everybody. For me, the best moments have been when the players have steered it in unexpected directions. The sweet spot for me is offering a mix of roleplay, combat and exploration, because I enjoy every aspect. I do prefer theater of the mind over a battlemap, but will never underestimate the clarity one brings to the shared imagination space.

My games focus on...
... the mythical journey of the characters and their impact on the world.
Rules are...
... the scaffolding from which to sometimes take a leap.
Xamos's ideal table
My table, in this virtual space, is a place where ideas have place to breathe. Players who know who their character is and what they want will fit well. Players who figure it out on the go will have ample opportunity to define who their character is. Players who are interested in active Roleplay will have an especially good time.

I love it when a player
... gets excited about their character!
I think metagaming...
... should be allowed if it helps further the fun at the table! And I get that it is a fine line to ride. If your fellow players character has your characters quest item, don't go through their pockets without suspicion. But definetely steer the ingame conversation towards that item!
I think min/maxing...
... is ultimately just a preference for a high power level. If no one at the table minds, its absolutely fine. It's a conversation to be had in Session 0.
