About Anjuli

I have been GMing TTRPGs since 2015 when I got my hands on the DMG. While I started with 5e I soon fell in love with the entire TTRPG industry and the storytelling it allowed me to immerse myself in. From DMing once a week with friends I soon moved into building a local community of gamers in pubs in my town, running up to 6 games a week, esp. for new players. Eventually I moved into a career in the gaming industry. I have worked with industry giants and indie start-ups alike, and currently I am Head of Marketing and Brand Management for MyMiniFactory. I go to A LOT of conventions and gaming shows for both work and fun (in fact we co-sponsor the Start Playing GenCon party every year!) and am comfortable with most game systems. While I am new to Start Playing I would like to be running Daggerheart as a favour to Darrington Press who have been wonderfully supportive of me this last year. So if you are new to the system and want to learn hit me up and we can go through the starter adventure and maybe even move into a regular game! Once I am more settled I will also open my services for other systems too.

How Anjuli runs games

I love fun narrative-driven roleplay where everyone gets their time to shine and adds to the story. I am not overly keen on combat focused sessions, but understand that these can be important to the players, esp. when they have worked hard on a beefy barbarian who likes to hit things! I like to think I am a "Yes GM", in that if it makes sense for the story and your character as written I will say yes to your ideas (providing the dice also let you!).

Anjuli's ideal table

The general vibe is pretty chill, I do prefer if we don't break character in important scenes, but I also understand that life gets in the way of games. I expect everyone to treat each other kindly and fairly at the table (and that includes me) and help each other get epic spotlights on their characters tale. Min/Maxxers will probably hate my table as I find characters with flaws to be far more interesting and real, then the epic hero who always rolls well.

isn't for me. I understand why some people do it, but I personally like characters with flaws, they are more interesting. If you build your character to win ever time that is boring storytelling for everyone (apart from you).
