About me

Hi! I'm West! I've been running games in multiple systems since 2017 and I'm excited to potentially run a game for you! I'm very invested in character stories and love community world building. After years of running games, there's nothing more satisfying than watching a player have that "moment" with their character where they fulfill their arc.

GM Style

I run a lot of homebrew campaigns that focus on character's stories and how they interact with a grander story. I like having a strong session 0 where we discuss what kind of arcs and story moments we want our characters to potentially have as well as discuss the themes of the campaign. I've been running games since 2017 and have been doing so in multiple systems. My strongest systems are DND 5e, Lancer, and Genesys, however I've also GM'd in other systems and have even made my own system. I enjoy giving my players a challenge with every encounter and rewarding clever thinking instead of good dice rolls. Of course, we use the dice to help keep us on our toes as to keep randomness and chance in the story, but I also believe that good roleplay and fun ideas should be rewarded as well when the dice don't agree. I've run a lot of different forms of combat, from theater of the mind to crunchy hex-grid combat. I like to check with my players and see what they'd prefer in session 0. As far as themes go, I go into each campaign with an idea of what message I'd like to convey. I like to talk about these during session 0 - using that session to develop the theme with the players and see what story we all want to tell. Then use those themes to help inspire character ideas for myself and players.
