About Gabriel
My father introduced my siblings and I to role playing games when I was about eight years old, the first game I played was Warhammer Fantasy 1st edition, and many of my earliest gaming experiences were older games from his childhood. I have many fond memories of my siblings and I gathering around the table to play and now I want to bring that experience to as many people as possible! I prefer to run homebrew campaigns and worlds, but as long as I get to share the hobby I love, I am happy to run just about anything.

I got started GMing...
When I was about 10 years old I wanted to try my hand at game mastering, I convinced my father to let me having a go at running a game. The first lesson I learned was that you have to give not only the players, but the characters a genuine reason to pursue the goals you lay out for them.
My 3 systems I'd bring to a desert island would be
This is not an easy question to answer, I love so many games after all. However, for the sake of answering, I will try and narrow it down. Rogue Trader is an excellent, grimdark, sci fi. Dungeons and Dragons 5e is easy to get into and familiar to a great many. And then, perhaps, Vampire.
My favorite books are
I have a great many books that I hold dearly, narrowing it down is no small feat, however I will attempt to do so. The Red Mars Trilogy is excellent, LoTR trilogy is a classic for a reason, Enders Game has immense nostalgia for me, and then perhaps the Gaunts Ghosts.
How Gabriel runs games
My biggest focus when running a game is on the roleplay, certainly I enjoy combat where it is appropriate and it can be fun seeing how the players handle a dangerous encounter, but my favorite games are ultimately ones focused around political intrigue and character development. I have several home brewed settings that I love to show off, each of which is a unique experience tailored to be well suited to specific systems so that the lore and gameplay feel as though they fit well together. If you are looking for a game where the rules are secondary to the narrative, where roleplay and character development are always at the forefront and where the Game Master will make sure to tie your character backstory into the game then give me a shot, I have intentionally set up my pricing to be affordable so that my games can be accessible to anyone.

I once ran a session...
Not so much a session, but a Vaessen campaign in which I was able to make one of my players cry almost every time we played. Of course this was not just the result of my game mastering, but also the player truly getting into the spirit of their character and genuinely caring for them.
Rules are...
A helpful way to outline the goals of the game, and to get started with new groups, new games, and new game masters, but ultimately they can and will be broken at the game masters discretion for the purposes of the mutual enjoyment of the table and moving the story forward.
When it comes to voices
Mine are hit or miss, I will give you some fun ones but do not expect them to be consistent.
