About Fixer Victor
'"How dangerous is it?" Kid, if you want to go on a milk run, you're talking to the wrong Fixer. Name's Victor, and I don't do 'safe.' But if you're looking for something more than creds; if you want to make a real difference in this fragged slagheap we live in? Well, I know a guy.' Cyberpunk, sci-fi, post-apoc -- those are the genres I specialize in, and the worlds in those settings are often dark and cynical. Mine are no exception. But the stories aren't written by the setting; they're written by the protagonists, and I'm not looking to write a story about another cog in a dystopic machine. I want people who are wrong for their time and place. Together with you, I want to tell stories of rage against the machine, compassion in the face of cynicism, and a foolhardy belief that things can be better. That doesn't mean I'll go easy on you, of course. The universe abhors change, and I'll hit you with the worst it can muster. You will fall, and you will fail. As your biggest fan, though, I trust that you'll get back up, and I'll keep cheering for you as you stumble towards a brighter future. 'Think you got what it takes, kid? Let's get fixing.'

I started running games because...
... the only games around me were D&D, which was fine for a while. But when a local DM tried running a Mass Effect campaign in D&D, I couldn't take it. Krogan aren't Orcs, okay? And there are so many rulesets and settings to explore, and stories to share!
My favorite system of all Time is
Without a doubt, SHADOWRUN. The rules are a bit of a mess, the presentation leaves much to be desired, and yet -- with a little elbow grease -- it produces some of the most beautiful chaos I've ever witnessed unravel at a table.
People are always surprised when I tell them
Many moons ago, I was the top-ranked Arena fighter in the World... ... of Warcraft.
How Fixer Victor runs games
🕵️♀️Player-Led Sandboxes: Homebrew or based on pre-written content, you run the story: player backgrounds and goals set the course, mistakes and enemies you make seek to derail you from it. None of us know how the ending until the curtain has fallen. ☠️Real Worlds with Real Dangers: The world isn't balanced to your level, and encounters never promise a fair fight. Scout ahead, make your plans, rig the fight to be unfair -- in your favor -- and remember that discretion is the better part of valor. 🎲Play Outside the Rules: Embrace the crunch, but never let a rules debate stall the game. If a plan makes logical sense and sounds awesome, you'll get a fair shot at pulling it off. Creative problem-solving is always welcome. 🌄Immersive Presentation: Games are hosted on Foundry VTT with battlemaps and backdrop visuals crafted specifically for each session. Extra handouts and curated music bring the setting to life. 🌆The World Never Sleeps: Optional play-by-post style gameplay lets you pursue downtime activities, talk with NPCs, gather rumors, and banter within the party in between live sessions.

If my games were Movies they'd be directed by...
Bong Joon Ho, naturally. Drek, a Cyberpunk flick directed by Bong Joon Ho would actually be so lit. Class warfare, terrible decisions, dark comedy, and a cast of chummers who really should have known better? Let's write a petition, folks.
My games focus on...
characters who have skin in the game. Your backgrounds and connections will be a real, living part of the story -- and your adversaries will do their best to take advantage of that.
Rules are...
for me to learn, and for the players to enjoy. Many of the systems I run have complex rulebooks, but I've a knack for translating that into simple and straightforward guidelines for newer or less studious players; or adding extra detail and flavor where appropriate.
Fixer Victor's ideal table
I am an immigrant, unabashedly liberal, socialist-leaning, LGBTQ+ friendly, with a 'live-and-let-live' attitude. My campaigns frequently explore themes of belonging, community resilience, and the power of the people pushing back against faceless institutions. I want my tables to be a welcoming home for people from all walks of life. That said, table chemistry is a key ingredient of a successful campaign. I do my best to ensure compatibility, and I'll be proactive if a particular group dynamic isn't working. Sometimes that may mean asking a player to move to another game or step away through no fault of their own. I will always ensure fair refunds and honest communication for such situations. Table Tone & Expectations: 🥷My campaign themes lean serious and dramatic, but there's room for banter and humor in the moment-to-moment play. We're playing a game, not re-enacting Hamlet. 💣Make choices based on your character's motivations -- even (especially!) when it creates tension or puts the run in jeopardy. 🎭Roleplayed inter-party conflict: Characters can disagree, argue, and pursue distinct agendas -- as long as everyone at the table is having fun. ✔️Safety First: Out-of-character respect for each other, and each others' boundaries is mandatory. 'But that's what my character would do!' is never an excuse for antagonizing other players.

I love it when a player
... takes the bait I didn't put on the hook. You notice an insignificant NPC or misread a situation in a way that had nothing to do with my plans -- and decide to go after it. That's when things get fun.
My perfect party mix is
... a balance of personalities and styles. The way player characters contrast and complement each other in terms of attitudes and goals is far more important than the 'right' mix of skills and classes.
My table is not the place for...
... players who need every scene to end in triumph. I don't run full-on grimdark games, but there will be times where the best you can do is limit the damage and live to fight another day. I want players who'll persevere through the worst -- and be there to enjoy their hard-earned victories.
