About Fey
Hello, hello! The name’s Fey, but there’s a lot more to me than just that! My love for TTRPGs started on New Year’s Eve of 2015 with my very first session played. From the first roll of the dice, I have only fallen more in love with tabletop roleplaying. Before joining StartPlaying, I ran 2-3 games a day, 6 days a week, over the course of 3 years as part-owner of my own TTRPG company – WildewitchRP. This puts me in the ballpark of about 3,500 games that I’ve professionally run pre-SPG, and my repertoire includes fully custom storylines, pre-written modules, one-shots, and adventure campaigns both short and long-term, crafted or embellished in collaboration with my partner. I’m a storyteller who specializes in D&D 5e, however I am a lover of the variety of systems that exist in this hobby. I have experience running the Witcher TRPG and Blue Rose systems, and I'm constantly looking to add more for those who want to play them! I like to describe myself as a “fun-first” kind of GM: I want to make sure that my players are having fun above all else! I achieve this with a blend of roleplay, interesting combat mechanics, puzzles where they're appropriate, and creative custom elements that make choices and interactions exciting. I use the rules of the system to facilitate the story and to create lasting memories at the table, though I will bend the rules in favor of fun. A good story is better than a strict adherence, in my mind. I also work hard to make my tables welcoming, inclusive, and safe for play, using several different measures from group to group that help guide us through a mutually enjoyable experience. There’s a whole world of stories for us to explore, so grab your dice and let’s start our adventure!

My favorite shows/movies are
The Adventures of Baron Munchausen. I have a lot of favorites, it's hard to narrow down a tip-top of the list, but The Adventures of Baron Munchausen I love so dearly and so much.
My favorite system of all Time is
Blue Rose. The 2nd edition, specifically, which uses the AGE system. Goodness, I can talk about that game for hours; romantic fantasy, queer stories built in, CORRUPTION MECHANICS?! Goodness, I love it so much more than I have room to type here.
When I'm not running games I'm...
Baking, or cooking, or making coffee drinks at a café. I also enjoy playing video games (sometimes with my friends), and writing (also sometimes with my friends). When I'm not doing any of those, I'm cuddling my cat (his name is Max), reading, or watching movies with my partner. Or napping.
How Fey runs games
I would describe my GM style as "fun-first". The most important thing to me is that my players are having fun. Whether this includes a more rules-light approach, a crunchier and more tactical gameplay, or a balance somewhere in between. I love to roleplay, and attempt to give voices to my NPCs. I like to make combat more than "I hit" or "I miss"; I enjoy making fights narrative, and adding in cool extra mechanics, like environmental challenges. Or opportunities, depending on one's perspective!

Rules are...
there to facilitate the fun. If a rule needs to be bent, or broken, in a moment to make the moment more fun - then the rule will become malleable. There are moments for rules to be enforced as written, but there are moments when rules are to be thrown to window.
When it comes to voices
I definitely try to do them, but I am by no means a professional voice actor. My voices slip, or disappear entirely. But it's all in fun!
Fey's ideal table
My ideal table shifts with the system and story I want to facilitate. So long as the players are enjoying playing the game and playing with each other, I'm at my ideal table!
