About Enigmaze
Avast, ye intrepid adventurer! Ye hast...*Ahem*. Perhaps I should be serious. Hello, there! I'm Enigmaze, but you can call me Enigma. I have been DMing for 9 years (as of 08/2025). Throughout those years, I've ran a variety of systems ranging from D&D 5E to Exalted: Essence and even V:tM 5E and, recently, Daggerheart. My interests are vast and varied. Odds are, I either already have a game for you OR I likely have one (or will have one) in the works! You can check out my Youtube link below if you are interested in previewing some of my Exalted: Essence and V:tM V5 games I've ran in the past.

I became a GM because
I enjoy world-building and creating stories. Few activities are more enjoyable than observing and experiencing what my players do with the stories I present to them.
I got started GMing...
Because a friend of mine had insisted that I try D&D with him for a couple of years. He ran me through the Lost Mine of Phandelver adventure. That experience opened my eyes to what's possible as a GM and hooked me on this hobby ever since.
How Enigmaze runs games
I vary both my style and tone significantly depending on the system I'm running and the themes of the campaign I'm running. Be that as it may, there are a few features that always stay the same across all my games: 1) I love intricate narratives set in deeply immersive and living worlds; 2) I love complex and challenging boss fights (or set pieces), in general. Whether it is a game of political intrigue or cosmic horror, I always strive to not only incorporate my players' ideas for their characters' backstories and futures into my world and meta-narrative, but also to carefully cultivate and craft a rich world in which players could easily "get lost in," so to speak. So, if you enjoy narrative-focused games with a balanced blend of challenging combat and rapt roleplaying, then I might be the DM for you!

I deal with rules issues by...
proposing an interpretation during the session to keep the game running smoothly. After the session, I consult the rulebook as well as any other online resources I can find to determine the "correct" answer going forward. I then announce my findings to the players and we come to a consensus on it.
When it comes to voices
I'm not a voice actor. That said, I try to add descriptive narration to my NPCs, their mannerisms, and their quality of voice so players can head-canon a meaningful character. I don't expect you to be a voice actor, either. Just be clear about when you're speaking in- and out-of-character.
Enigmaze's ideal table
My ideal table would be a group of players who are passionate about not only their characters but about cooperatively building stories together as they work towards the main campaign's goals. These players would be fantastic roleplayers who are always ready to jump in at the start of the session, stay focused and in-character during the session, and who value story/narrative experiences the most in their tabletop games (which means they, naturally, share the spotlight and know when to let other players take center stage). Of course, these players would also be amicable to not only each other but also the GM.

I love it when a player
gets deeply immersed in their character and isn't afraid to make RP-first decisions during the game, even if, strictly speaking, such decisions are not "optimal" from a min-maxed combat perspective or, even, a common sense perspective.
I think it's a red flag when players...
present a lone-wolf or overly edgy character who seems difficult to work into a group setting. Most games I run are not solo plays. Therefore, you need a character concept that gels with not only the campaign prompt but also the group nature of TTRPGs.
My table is not the place for...
bigots, hateful or selfish people, or people who have "main character syndrome." TTRPGs are about cooperative storytelling: you'll get your own character arc (in a campaign), but you must also let other players have their own and be respectful about it.
