About Eddie Proudfoot (GM Joe)

Hi there, hello! My name is Joe, I’m 29, and I’ve been playing RPGs regularly since I was 16 and GM-ing since I was 17. Outside of TTRPGs, I enjoy hiking and camping, performing improv comedy, playing and designing board games, and spending time with friends and family. My journey into RPGs began with a nine-month Warhammer Fantasy RP 2e campaign, meeting twice a week, followed by a six-month D&D 4th Edition campaign. Over the past 12 years, I’ve run many 4th and 5th Edition D&D campaigns, often lasting 18 months or more. I also have experience with Warhammer Fantasy RP (2e & 4e), A Song of Ice and Fire RPG, Cairn 1e, and CoC 2e. Altogether, I have over 500 hours of GM experience and more than 1,000 hours of RPG playtime. I also run a small D&D YouTube channel aimed at helping new players learn the game, which has helped me develop clear explanations, strong table pacing, and an inclusive, welcoming GM style.

People are always surprised when I tell them

That the fun session that they just played was entirely improvised.

The three words my players would use to describe me are...

- Silly - Spontaneous - Sensible

How Eddie Proudfoot (GM Joe) runs games

As a GM, I foster a fun, collaborative vibe where every player has a voice and space at the table. I work hard to ensure everyone is heard and gets meaningful moments throughout each session. My style is spontaneous and player-driven. I’m quick on my feet, which allows me to build engaging scenes when players surprise me or head down completely unforeseen rabbit holes. I’m also known for bringing lovable NPCs to life! Some of the most pivotal figures in my long-running campaigns came from completely improvised scenes that ended up changing the course of the campaign. If you want an adventure where you’re in the driver’s seat and your decisions genuinely shape the world and even the fabric of reality; or you just want to mess around and put on a muppet show for a tribe of kobolds (yes, that actually happened), look no further. The adventure awaits!

I once ran a session...

Where the party helped a green hag give birth to a baby that she had ingested 13 days earlier (that the party previously procured) buy having her drink 100L of rotten fish guts. The hag became the parties spiritual leader and mentor.

My games focus on...

Letting the players explore the limits of the world. Giving them the opportunity to find their own adventure.

When it comes to voices

I like doing a variety of silly voices and accents when it's appropriate.

Eddie Proudfoot (GM Joe)'s ideal table

My table is welcoming and supportive. It's important to me that everyone is heard and gets a chance to play the game. The vibe is really "let's have fun and roll some dice" I enjoy letting player be the master of their own destiny, by carving their own path and pursuing it to the end.
