About Zach

Hello! I’m Zach Webber, a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Therapeutic Game Master, and International Professional GM. I am also a 100% disabled US Navy veteran as well as a neurodivergent individual (ASD, ADHD). I am a lifelong gamer who believes in the transformative power of storytelling. I specialize in running immersive tabletop RPGs with an emphasis on emotional depth, collaborative worldbuilding, and player empowerment. Whether you’re new to the hobby or a seasoned player, my games are crafted to create meaningful, memorable adventures for everyone at the table. As the founder of Dragons Den Counseling, I often use RPGs like Daggerheart and Dungeons & Dragons as therapeutic tools, helping people explore identity, connection, and growth through collaborative play. But you don’t have to be in therapy to benefit from a rich, character-driven session. All are welcome here: neurodivergent players, LGBTQ+ folks, total beginners, or returning veterans. Expect a safe, inclusive environment where your character’s choices shape the world and your story truly matters. I design every session to spark creativity, camaraderie, and just enough chaos to keep you laughing. Let’s tell an unforgettable story together! When you book a session with me, you’re not just signing up for a game, you’re helping build something bigger. 100% of the income I earn through StartPlaying is reinvested directly into my therapeutic work with neurodivergent kids, teens, and young adults. This allows me to do the following: • Purchase high-quality dice, books, maps, and minis that are donated to youth who are just getting into tabletop role-playing games. • Expand my donation library with full collections and starter sets that spark creativity and connection. • Upgrade the tools and materials I use in sessions to offer the best possible experience in both individual and group settings. These games are more than just entertainment they’re a path to self-expression, communication, and healing. Your support helps make that path more accessible for young people who need it most.

I got started GMing...

When I was a teenager and wanted to play TTRPGS. I volunteered to run games so my friends and I would be able to play and have been running games ever since!

My favorite shows/movies are

Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, The Office, One Piece

People are always surprised when I tell them

I used to be a professional wrestler!

How Zach runs games

I run games that prioritize storytelling, character development, and emotional stakes. I focus heavily on player agency: your choices matter, and the world will change in response to what you do. Whether we’re deep in roleplay or navigating tense mechanical moments, I’ll always center your character’s journey and personal arc. My sessions focus on: Inclusive – Neurodivergent-friendly, LGBTQ+ safe, beginner-welcoming. Cinematic – Descriptions are vivid, pacing is dynamic, and I give you room to shine. Collaborative – I love building the world with you, not just for you. Balanced – Expect a healthy mix of roleplay, conflict, narrative mechanics, and character growth. Daggerheart’s fate-forward mechanics get woven into every meaningful decision.

I deal with rules issues by...

Hearing out the other person but ultimately rule decisions are my discretion but will be made for what narratively makes the most sense.

Rules are...

First and foremost to have fun. I value rule of cool over rules when it narratively makes sense.

When it comes to voices

I enjoy using voices and encourage players to use whatever voice they like!

Zach's ideal table

My ideal table consists of players who are excited to play and will be invested in their character, the other players, and the story and work towards helping collaboratively telling a fun story.

Featured Prompts

I am for a vibe that's...

Fun, chill, and lighthearted but also able to understand when it’s appropriate to do so and when it might be time to be more serious if the narrative calls for it.

I love it when a player

Tries something new or something they are excited to try out regardless of if it works or not. If they had fun trying it then that’s great!

I think it's a red flag when players...

Are being rude to other players or telling other players what to do or how to do something and makes a big deal if it is not done that way. Everyone has fun differently and I encourage helping out players but not playing their character for them.
