About DMBryon
Hiya! I have been forever GMing since I was a teenager and even after a career as a professional storyteller creating animations, video games, and comicbooks, it's running RPG's that still holds the strongest grip on my heart and creativity. I am all about player agency and providing a space for players to explore their imaginations, while never losing sight of the fact that this is a still a game and we are here to enjoy playing it. I regularly run games for everyone from fresh face kids to silver haired veterans. I can teach anyone who wants to learn and my games are always beginner friendly. I've run sessions in living rooms, game shops, convention halls, youth camps, and charity events. Online is but an extension of all that and I hope you will join me here on my next adventure, or rather, on our next adventure. Have Fun! Life is too short to do otherwise.

I became a GM because
Storytelling is as natural to me as breathing. Being able to share that experience with players as participants while also making a "game" of it make it even greater than the sum of its' whole.
My favorite books are
Comicbooks! But if we're sticking to prose, The Three Musketeers, Ozma of Oz, and Farewell to Shady Glade are huge influences on me.
The three words my players would use to describe me are...
...not for me to say. That's what reviews are for, yeah? But I would hope that competent, fair, and creative are ones they might choose. Handsome too, but saying that about me is what my wife is for.
How DMBryon runs games
I use roleplaying, exploration, and encounters as the skeleton of the games, emphasizing each when appropriate to a particular narrative or part thereof. I can mix things up pretty well and improvise through sudden changes of direction. I throw in maps and other visuals as necessary to aid the storytelling and gameplay, but rely on Theater of the Mind for most of the experience. My games are Our games and I invite everyone to add as much of their character into the game as they want and to push the narrative themselves if they get an idea that moves them. While I am the final arbiter of what happens in-game, I never lose sight that this is a collaborative venture. Your good time is my good time.

If my games were Movies they'd be directed by...
Me. A cheesy answer I know, but I've already professional directed a ton of animated shorts and a couple of features, so it makes some sense. Anyway, I'd rather leave it up to my players to suggest which movie director my games seem compatible with. It might be eye opening for me.
I once ran a session...
... that I didn't enjoy. That's a lie. I have enjoyed every single session I've ever run. I find pleasure in even the ones that go completely off the rails .
When it comes to voices
They are by no means required, but as someone who has directed voice over sessions as well as having grown up in Hollywood, doing them to help bring a character to life comes natural to me. Now if only I was actually really good at them... Ah well, let's relish in the mediocrity shall we?
DMBryon's ideal table
I don't have a preconceived notion of an ideal table as I am confident enough in my Gamemastering to be able to handle just about anything. I can say that I do appreciate players who want to have fun, never take things too seriously (even when the situations are very serious), and always remember that we are all just playing pretend with rules.

I love it when a player
Makes me laugh.
I think metagaming...
Is perfectly acceptable. I encourage it as it builds the teamwork that makes the game work.
My table is not the place for...
Discrimination, sexism, or racism of any kind, unless it's within the context of the imaginary world we're playing in. The table is real life and those things will not be tolerated in that space. Diversity is Strength and Acceptance is Life.
