About Liam

Hello there! I'm Liam, a tabletop enthusiast in my mid-20s who has been lucky enough to be on both sides of the GM screen for nearly two decades. For me, the perfect session is a rollercoaster. I aim to create a space where we can experience the full spectrum of emotion together. One moment, you might be sharing an in-character joke that leaves the table in stitches. The next, a villain's monologue might hit a little too close to home, or a beloved NPC might make the ultimate sacrifice. I believe It's in these moments that a game becomes more than just a game. it becomes a memory. Ultimately, my job is to be your guide, your biggest fan, and the person who asks, "Are you sure you want to do that?" with a knowing smile. My goal is that at the end of every session, you feel a profound sense of satisfaction, knowing that your choices mattered and you've built something incredible together. If that sounds like your kind of game, I can't wait to roll dice with you.

People are always surprised when I tell them

I'm actually pretty introverted in daily life. Behind in the GM screen I'm in my element with voices, energy and dramatic descriptions. But put me in a party full of strangers and I'll probably be the quiet one in the corner petting the dog.

The three words my players would use to describe me are...

Immersive, Fair, Memorable

When I'm not running games I'm...

most likely buried in a video game, catching up on shows and movies, hanging out at my local game shop and being mildly annoyed that I've bought all their dice sets, or most likely jotting down campaign inspiration/notes that I have way too many of.

How Liam runs games

If you love getting deep into your character's psyche and watching them grow (or unravel!) over the course of a campaign, you'll feel right at home. My GMing style is built on a few core pillars: Roleplay is the Engine: Combat and exploration are important, but they exist to serve character moments and plot development. I love long, in-character conversations around the campfire, moral dilemmas with no easy answers, and quiet scenes that reveal who your character truly is. Your Backstory is My Fuel: I treat your character's history as a gift. That rival from your academy days? They're now a key lieutenant in the villain's army. That mysterious artifact your family protected? It's the key to the entire plot. I will actively mine your backstory for plot hooks, NPCs, and emotional stakes to make sure you are the main character of your own story. Consequences & Growth: Your choices, big and small, will shape the narrative. This means your character can grow, change, and forge their own legend based on the decisions you make. It also means the world feels reactive and realistic.

If my games were Movies they'd be directed by...

Hayao Miyazaki

I once ran a session...

that was devoted to "Worm Lore". I had a player want to cast Speak With Animals in a fairly barren location. Long story short they found a worm. What proceeded was a couple hours of improvising the "Worm Wars", and their god who held the sun (which was really a druid holding a glowing acorn).

Rules are...

a framework, not a prison. They give us structure so the story has stakes, but I'll always prioritize a cool narrative moment over getting bogged down in obscure technicalities. We learn the rules so we know when bending them serves the story.

Liam's ideal table

My table is a collaborative storytelling space where everyone's character matters. I run games that balance immersive roleplay, tactical combat that serves the narrative and exploration of a world that reacts to your choices. Expect emotional highs and lows, laughter one moment, tense silence the next, all building toward a satisfying shared story. Think of a group of friends gathered around a campfire, collectively telling a legend. It's respectful, engaged and supportive. We celebrate each other's big moments , lean into the drama together and prioritize everyone having a good time over any single person "winning" D&D.

I love it when a player

gets genuinely emotional at the table, whether it's laughter, tension or that moment of stunned silence after a gut-punch. It means they're invested, they care and we're building something that matters together.

I think metagaming...

is a spectrum. On one end, it's harmless, we all know goblins are weak and dragons are strong. On the other end, it's disruptive. Reading ahead in a module, using player knowledge to avoid every trap or arguing tactics based on stats your character couldn't know.

I think min/maxing...

is great when it serves a character concept rather than replacing one. Give me an optimized build with a backstory that explains why they're so efficient and we'll have a blast. But pure numbers without personality? You'll receive a gentle nudge toward adding some soul to that sheet.
