About DM.exe (Connor)
A dark cavern. A hooded figure, singular, wielding a torch. Two Portals open. What path do you choose? I have been running and playing TTRPGs for over 5 years now, since 2019. That may be less than you've seen from others, but I guarantee the quality is the same. I specialize in high fantasy, but am excited to try new avenues and genres. I run my games with a high focus on story, character connection, cinematic scene crafting, and player agency. I major in Theater and Creative Writing, two things I would love to bring to your next tabletop experience.

I became a GM because
I was watching an Actual Play for the first time and watched an interaction where the player wanted to start a cult, and the DM, without missing a beat, said "Twelve Small Children run up to you", and I knew I wanted to be able to do stuff like that.
My favorite books are
The Unwanteds, The Falconer, and Lord of the Rings
My favorite shows/movies are
My Three Favorite Movies are Knives Out, Superman 2025, and Godzilla: Minus One My Three Favorite Shows are Game of Thrones, How to Train Your Dragon: Race to the Edge, and Demon Slayer

My games focus on...
Incorporating the player interests and desires into every aspect of the story. The players are the foundation that I like to build on. Everything links back to someone's backstory.
Rules are...
A great guideline to help us on the path to a great time. But not necessarily the only path to said great time.
When it comes to voices
I probably try a little too hard. I once made a copy of the map of an area just to map out what accent is local to each area so I'd have a stepping off point no matter where the party went. Also my dwarves are australian so do with that what you will.
DM.exe (Connor)'s ideal table
My ideal table is people who get so lost in role-playing with each other that I forget that I have to DM the game. Players who can find themselves so lost in the story that their heart rate increases in stressful segments. My ideal player is a player who embodies their character so well that they make decisions even if it isn't the best one. And selfishly, I like players who want to know the lore.

I love it when a player
~~asks a lore question~~ But actually, I love it when a player puts the pieces together. In any capacity. Whether that be the pieces of someone else's backstory, the lore, the main plot. I love it because it shows that they care enough to pay attention. And what's more valuable than that?
I think it's a red flag when players...
use "it's what my character would do" to justify a clearly derailing and unsatisfying action in game. You made the character, friend. I'd prefer you make characters that will actually move with the other characters and story, not against it.
My table is not the place for...
People who want to make characters who don't interact, don't participate, and don't want to be the part of an adventuring team. I love character flaws, but if your character's flaw is that they steal and murder whenever they get the chance, there isn't room for that at my table. I hope you find one.
