About Dex G
Hello and welcome! I’m Dex (artist, SF&F author, and GM) and I'd love for you to join one of my games! I am passionate about storytelling and providing a fun experience for my players. I got started in 2019 when I decided I wanted to learn to play D&D, couldn't find an open game among friends, and decided to create a massive homebrew campaign following the plot of a novel I wrote. Ridiculous? Perhaps, but it was certainly an interesting way to learn, and I have been running games ever since! As a writer and creative person in general, homebrews are near and dear to my heart. If you book me to run a game or whole campaign for you, we can discuss ways that I can tailor the plot, characters, magic, and baddies to suit your needs.

How Dex G runs games
Every game I run is made with fun and adventure in mind. The scenarios I plan all leave room for improvised plot details and even whole new areas to explore based on player choices. Things you'll find while playing ~ A balance of role play, combat, and puzzles ~ A chance for every player to shine ~ An inclusive and welcoming group ~ Game rules provide a nice framework, but I follow the Rule of Cool ~ Touching moments, daring feats, dire consequences, and plenty of room for chaos and humor One of my favorite things to do as a GM is weave character backstory into the plot; it creates such an emotional impact for them and also enriches the story. My style is especially good for beginners. New players are understandably nervous, but even the most complex of my games are still a chill, safe place to explore and try new things!
