About Javen
I am a 24 year old dm who has spent a lot of time moving around. I started my ttrpg journey in 2014 when dnd 5e came out. A family friend invited me to join a game being played at a local communtiy center. In the past 10+ years, I have gone from that first character to dm'ing 5+ year long campaigns in dnd 5e. I usually run modules with homebrew twists designed to make it so that even someone who has played that campaign before can have some fun and surprises coming their way. I have run a few homebrew campaigns (including 2 in flgs's that lasted for a few years, and even been paid for one of them), but the modules have always caught my eye as something that allowed me to take a story centered in a universe I already know fairly well and turn it into something new and exciting.

How Javen runs games
My games focus around the story. Roleplay is a big part of what makes my games unique. I specialize in helping my players create characters that are unique and living (they grow with the campaign). I build parts of my players' backstories into even the most straightedge of modules. I can take the module and make it feel like a totally different story using the backstories of my player, while also giving the same basic story feeling that comes from that module. Villains and heroes alike should feel real and breathing, not static and stale.

I deal with rules issues by...
Making an immediate ruling and then discussing with any players that want to, after the session.
My favorite trope is...
The big burly fighter/barbarian with a heart for kids/orphans.
When it comes to voices
My accents are not "good," but I do differentiate my voices as much as possible.
Javen's ideal table
Rule of Cool and Roleplay are the biggest contributors to the success of my games. If something is cool, you can try to do it. If you roleplay your character well, the party is rewarded. It is not cool to ruin the game for others, but it is cool to build others up and make them feel like they are important within the group.

I love it when a player
Writes a backstory with plot hooks and npc relationships.
I think metagaming...
Ruins the game for those who don't metagame. It won't work at my table, anyway as I run monsters a lot different than the book says in a lot of cases.
My table is not the place for...
Anything sexual. Mild romantacism is one thing, but most people don't want anything sexually descriptive.
