About Delphi
I've been playing various forms of role-playing games formally for more than 2 decades, including online, written, table top, and more, while informally, I've been playing and performing roles all my life. I love creating and sharing stories, all the more so when the players truly become part of the world by surprising me with their choices. Professionally, I have a background in history and am a recently-recovering educator, and I bring both to the gaming table by helping players learn the game and developing unique and non-standard worlds and stories while using a teach-as-we-go method for new players.

I got started GMing...
to share my love and passion for creation and storytelling while building a safe space for all players, particularly those in the LGBTQIA+ and Neurodivergent communities.
My favorite shows/movies are
the classic fantasy and sci-fi. I grew up on Star Wars and Lord of the Rings, and I love a good story that is somehow bigger than life itself. I also really love and appreciate honest representation of queer and neurodivergent characters.
When I'm not running games I'm...
Usually reading, writing, or playing various games. I love the concept of travel, though I most often escape by venturing into alternative realms, whether mine or someone else's.
How Delphi runs games
I'm a laid-back game master, allowing the players to take the lead and tell me what stories to tell. I enjoy role-playing and getting into NPC characters, but I tend to balance that with good combat encounters that make the players think about their tactics. I am not above allowing players to put themselves into dangerous positions (or putting them there myself) and allowing them to find their way out.

I prep by
considering where we are in the game and what useful or interesting thing might happen where we're at. My prep is often loose and is less about specifics and more about the general needs of the session and what can or should happen. When in doubt, I almost always have a random encounter available.
My games focus on...
the narrative and storytelling goals of the mission and the party. We move at the party's pace and investigate what the party is interested in. Games can and do sometimes shift from the original intent and advertisement based on the party's direction and desires.
Rules are...
the guardrails of the game and allow us to speak in a shared language that ensures that the game is fun and balanced for everyone. That said, knowing where the rules are also gives us a chance to bend to twist them to make a moment truly unique and wondrous.
Delphi's ideal table
I run a fun, friendly, respectful table where all players and characters have the agency to go in the direction that they choose. I'm looking for players who lean in; not just for the story, but for each other. There is no "winning" at my tables (except for certain special events), and the best players for our tables remember that we are playing a game, and sometimes greatness emerges from someone pushing that little red button. Additionally, all players are automatically members of the Delphi Adventures community, a place to chat, chill, relax, and nerd out about our games, characters, art, and whatever else we decide to share. Everyone is welcome at Delphi Adventures, and all players are expected to exhibit respect and compassion to all other members of the party and community.

I am for a vibe that's...
chill and relaxed. Let's remember that we're here to have fun, and sometimes, it's okay for someone to push that red button and just see what happens!
I love it when a player
leans into the roleplay, even if its non-optimal or not even detrimental to the party. Play to your character's fears, angers, joys, and naïveté, and enjoy the messy, but interesting, results! Keep it in character while the players (including you!) enjoy the mayhem!
My table is not the place for...
taking everything, including the game, too seriously. We're here to have fun and enjoy a shared story. Players should avoid metagaming while embracing consequences. Let the story guide us, and have fun watching the wonders unfold!
