About Darth Bober
Been playing tabletop games for a long time, started DMing/GMing some time in 2017. Had a prolonged stint of online sessions/campaigns during COVID, but lately I've mostly been playing and GMing with/for my friends. For D&D, I almost exclusively run homebrew campaigns in my own worlds. The main world is called Melendor, but I've been working on other parts of my multiverse throughout the years (you may or may not visit some of them, depending on what you do ingame). I developed my own pantheon and lore that's continuously evolving as I'm working on different parts of it. The sort of "main" continent has clearly defined regions with their own inner politics and intrigues. I aim to send my players on immersive high fantasy adventures with meaningful combat, dangerous environments and collaborative storytelling. I generally lean toward a more serious/grounded tone, but there’s always more than enough room for humor and absurd moments when they happen naturally. Player decisions meaningfully influence both the story and the world around them. I enjoy both tactical gameplay & creative character building as well as roleplay-heavy sessions with lots of dialogue and sometimes exposition when needed. Players who like both experimenting with mechanics and strategies and engaging in story-focused moments when appropriate will probably feel at home in my games. I try to keep the table welcoming and cooperative rather than overly competitive or adversarial.

I started running games because...
games give my hollow pointless life a semblance of meaning.
When I'm not running games I'm...
playing boardgames, videogames and as of last few years, excessively obsessing over Warhammer 40k, more specifically Necrons
How Darth Bober runs games
My campaigns naturally alternate between roleplay-focused and combat-heavy sessions. Some story arcs revolve around dangerous battles, while others focus on intrigue, diplomacy, investigation and character interactions. The pacing follows the players and the story that emerges from their decisions. Improvisation is probably my strongest trait as a GM. Whether you decide to wander into forgotten ruins, spend an evening window shopping, tavern hopping or bandit popping, or just unexpectedly derail my plans entirely, I'm always happy to see where it leads. My philosophy is simple: if your character wants to attempt something, you can try it. The world responds to your actions rather than invisible walls or arbitrary "no." Success isn't guaranteed, but player agency is. I run exclusively homebrew campaigns. Creating my own worlds, lore and interconnected settings is what keeps me inspired. Above all, I aim to provide immersive adventures full of mystery, dangerous magic, memorable NPCs and a world that genuinely reacts to your choices. I don't expect everyone to play the game the same way. Whether you're brand new to D&D or you've spent years mastering the rules, you're welcome at my table. Bring the character you want to play, engage with the world in good faith, and I'll make sure to give you meaningful challenges and experiences in return.
Darth Bober's ideal table
My table tends to alternate between roleplay, exploration and combat rather than focusing heavily on just one style of play. Some sessions might be mostly conversation and character interaction, while others can involve a major tactical fight or exploring somewhere dangerous. I enjoy players who are curious, engage with the world and are willing to make their own decisions rather than waiting for me to tell them what they're supposed to do. I improvise heavily and generally approach unexpected ideas with "you can try it" rather than looking for reasons why something can't be done. You don't need to be an experienced player or know every rule. New and veteran players are both welcome. What matters more is being willing to engage with the group, give other players room to contribute, and treat everyone at the table with respect. The overall tone tends to be grounded without being relentlessly serious. There can be dramatic or darker moments, but there's plenty of room for humor, weird ideas and the unexpected situations that naturally emerge during play.

I think it's a red flag when players...
try to impose their opinions about how a scenario should unfold or a game should be ran on everyone else at the table. I as a GM try to be as accommodating as possible, so if a player does something like this, it runs against that principle directly.
I think min/maxing...
completely fine, the system allows it and as long as it doesn't detract from the overall enjoyment and experience of the game, I see no problem with it. If anything, it provides a mechanical representation of the character's theme/flavor.
