About Darkmalice
Hi there. If you like campaigns or one-shots of the fiction-first style, with a focus on character growth and roleplay, we might be a match. I love to run a variety of settings; everything from descriptive horror and investigations, to heroic fantasy adventures and gritty cyberpunk shenanigans. My style certainly leans more into the light-prep and improv method. I love narrative and roleplay. I like to involve players in the world/scene building and descriptions. I love to homebrew stuff. I sound far too Scottish to put on other accents (most of the time). You can also find recorded sessions on YouTube for some of idea of my style.

writing games!
How Darkmalice runs games
Theatre of the Mind (with background images to set the vibe) Improv-heavy, light prep. I avoid using battlemaps or tokens. Emphasis on roleplay and character development. Love incorporating player feedback and suggestions into the setting and the scene. I like to keep combat fast, fluid and high stakes. My broad Scottish accent is either a curse or a blessing to your experience.

I deal with rules issues by...
following logic and moving on.
I prep by
finding images and audio to support the atmosphere, spending time getting into the heads of the characters, and checking my VTT works!
Darkmalice's ideal table
Players that are invested in their characters and interested in the setting. I like a casual and supportive environment where we are all there to discover the world and let cool things happen.

I love it when a player
surprises me with their creativity in finding solutions.
I think it's a red flag when players...
are more focused on their sheet than the players around them.
