About Dant
I am a college student looking for a creative side hustle to help pay for school and put my passion for this game to good use! I am in school for music and my main jam is writing songs, playing bass, and singing, plus I lead a band which is something like GMing a party in surprising ways! I have been building worlds since long before I knew what TTRPG's were, and I have a lot of interesting, engaging ideas and concepts in mind for my players. I have learned from watching actual plays on YouTube featuring GMs like Brennan Lee Mulligan and Matt Mercer, and have since grown into my own GM to feel comfortable with the rules and confident in my ability to lead this game.

When I'm not running games I'm...
Writing, recording, and performing music with my band, Luscia Jane! We call our sound Forest Funk - a combination of soul, psychedelic rock, jazz, funk, and world I also enjoy hiking and travelling, and generally spending time in nature.
How Dant runs games
I love combat gauntlets catered to players' strengths (and sometimes weaknesses, because that leads to creative solutions), I love roleplay and NPCs, I love exploration and planting cool things for players to find, whether it be a whole town or a single magic item, and I LOVE a big concept that gets revealed to players at a steady pace throughout their journey. Diving more into combat, I like to add layers, such as multiple waves of enemies, legendary actions for bosses, and spells that spice things up. I also like having environmental factors for players to have the option to interact with, or are forced to interact with (ex. glass to throw an enemy through, platforms to jump across, spikes to push enemies into, etc.) I love adding flavor to the game that has actual mechanical consequences. If a player were to throw an enemy through glass in a really cool way using a class feature they have, the enemy will roll to see if they take extra damage from glass shards. Or, if a player just does something really creative with a spell or ability they have, they get GM inspiration for an extra d6 to their roll. These ideas can of course get turned against the players too, when the moment is right. I enjoy describing every blow in combat (briefly). If players don't want to do it for themselves, I will do a BRIEF description for them, to make the combat seem dynamic and immersive; and/or to make them feel cool and like their character is a badass, especially if they roll well!

My games focus on...
Cool, thought-provoking world concepts which are often (but not always) based around the harmony of the natural world and people's relationship to it.
Dant's ideal table
I am soooo open to flavor and rule of cool-- things will be chill, but player are expected to be engaged and considerate.
