About Cosmo The GM

Hello to all you wonderful players and fellow GMs! My name is Cosmo The GM and I’ve been running and playing games of D&D since 2019, and I’ve loved playing roleplay video games ever since I first played the first 'Legend of Zelda' game on the NES way back in the early 90s. Since then, I've gone on to fall in love with and play many RPGs, from many of the Final Fantasy games, to Skyrim and the Witcher 3, to the modern masterpiece of Baldur's Gate 3. When I first played D&D, it sparked a passion in me that has brought me so much joy. The ability to be able to tell collaborative stories with friends and strangers, who then became good friends, alike. While I still love video games, they are still limited somewhat by their coding and programming. D&D and other TTRPGs are more or less limited by your imagination, and that has huge appeal. Live play shows and the work of DMs like Matt Mercer, Brennan Lee Mulligan, Matt Corville, Ginny Di, The Dungeon Dudes and many more have influenced me. If you enjoy tables where with a focus on collaborative storytelling, rich and vibrant worlds, colorful and memorable NPCs, crunchy and challenging combat, with the odd puzzle thrown in, then please contact me about joining one of my established games. I got started GMing...

After loving my time being a player previously, I decided to give GMing a whirl. I loved the creativity and amazing moments to share with my players. I've always loved stories, so being able to tell a fluid one with passionate and willing players really motivate me.

Gaming. I have been a passionate gamer since I was old enough to pick up a controller (which was an NES controller way back in the day, I'm that old! I also enjoy pubs, gigs, events, reading, TV shows, movies, music, nature walks and travelling when I can.

How Cosmo The GM runs games

My games are open, inclusive and focus on storytelling, character back stories, moments of (normally dice related) humor, epic drama, off the cuff and lots of dice rolling fun! I am also a novice but passionate voice actor and improv comedy student. So hope to entertain you with some of my silly voices! I hope to see you at my table and craft some awesome adventures together.

What is your table like? - A welcoming space of passionate nerds who love collaborative storytelling What types of players will fit well at you table? - We have all types! From very hands on and engaging role players, to more laid back, hands off but still very invested players, and everything in between. What’s the general vibe like at your table? - Fun, relaxed and with lots of jokes and banter. We are also capable of moments of brevity when the story calls for it. My tables are also an inclusive space. We have people from all over the world, of different nationalities, races, genders, sexualities and faiths. Our love for TTRPGs shines through.

I love it when a player

Surprises me with a move that I never saw coming! It's one of the greatest and fun curveballs to deal with. I very much like when my players keep my on my toes.

My table is not the place for...

Understanding that playing a character according to their personality and motivations is important, but to keep in mind that TTRPGS are a team affair. Things like extended non-cooperation with the party, being a murder hobo, edgelord, or spotlight hogger etc won’t work at my table.
