I ran my first game...

I ran my first game as a one shot for my brothers birthday, he was always our DM so I thought it would be nice to let him play for once and I turned out to really enjoy it!

My favorite shows/movies are

I watch a lot of tv (not as many movies) but my favorites would be superhero ones, shows where a consultant works with a cop to solve crimes and comedies. Smallville is one of my favorite shows of all time. I also am a huge fan of actual plays like critical role and venture forth.

When I'm not running games I'm...

When I'm not running games I'm probably playing in them lol, i play in about 4 games a week as well as running two campaigns. Not dnd related would probably be reading or watching tv or doing puzzles.

How Sainte runs games

For campaigns, I love role-playing games with a decent amount of combat depending on the module, but even in combat role-playing is encouraged! I try to make the fights tough but fair since I don't usually run more than 1 in a long rest (module depending) but if the group is picking fights I'm throwing hands lol. For the most part I follow the rules pretty close but flavor is preferred and I am always open to out of the box thinking. For one shots I tend to be a little easier going since it's self contained, lately i've been running a lot of them from the one shot wonders book and those are very funny but are definitely more combat focused with only a little rp. I would also say I rule of cool a lot of monsters so the fights aren't too easy but still fair (usually this means changing their health or letting them have a multiattack etc.)

I deal with rules issues by...

I will usually take a second to look the rule up but if there's no clear answer instead of wasting time I will make my ruling on what seems logical/fair and then look it up later in depth and go over it with the player so we both understand for next time.

When it comes to voices

I'm not going to lie, I'm pretty terrible at voices lol I'v got a decent southern accent and a vaguely British one that's ok but to counteract that I will try to add mannerisms or tones to the npc's so you know who they are if you ran into them again... Or just make the voice bad enough to remember.

Sainte's ideal table

Players who are looking to have fun and do some RP but will focus on combat when it comes up are ideal. I have a lot of experience with players that are new or seasoned and have no issue explaining rulings or mechanics if needed. My tables do tend to run off on tangents because it is usually a very friendly vibe but then I will lock us back into the game if I think it goes on too long.

I think min/maxing...

Is totally fine, I do it in my own games but I also think flaws can be fun.

My perfect party mix is

Everyone do whatever you want, if you want to decide together and make sure it's well rounded that's fine but I have also done several one shots that are oops all bards or rogues and those are very fun as well. The only real rule there is that two people can't play the same subclass at the same time
