About kodie campbell
I have been playing Dungeons and Dragons since elementary school when I found my parents old Advanced Dungeons and Dragons books in a box hidden in my closet. I brought the books to school and forced my friends to spend recess pouring over them and learning to play. I have played and ran every edition of Dungeons and Dragons since then other than 5.5e (have not gotten a new group together6 since material started coming out.) I have also played and ran Pathfinder and played Vampire the Masquerade. I have experience playing both in person an virtually. I enjoy creating new worlds for my adventures to take place in that explore the unique impacts of living in a world where magic exists. Those new dynamics force you to really think about how the world works and makes the experience more immersive. Like for example what would it be like living in a world that has a recurring plague that affects magic users causing them to go catatonic but randomly cast spells until they finally explode? And what if Tieflings were immune? Would they be revered as healers who heroically brave the dangers to tend to those stricken, or feared as the cause of the plague? Something in between? I enjoy many play styles from dungeon crawls where nothing is more important than the next magic sword you get to loot, to heavy political intrigue that has you deciding the fate kingdoms without rolling initiative for 10 sessions at a time. I am excited to explore these new worlds as your tour guide!

How kodie campbell runs games
I enjoy everything from the smallest threat of plot to link dungeons together to heavy roleplay that almost never has outright fights. But my favorite is right in the middle with a great story that feels like your characters exist in the world rather than the world existing for you character, with lots of ways solve to solve problems though creativity or showing how well you can stack the dice in your favor.

I once ran a session...
with a decanter of endless water. Never again. The party beelined for the desert, siezed control of all the sources of water and set up a Mafia empire turing the campaign into a battle to keep control of their fledgling empire and ignoring my Litch wreaking havok to the east.
My favorite trope is...
The choosen one. I wish there were more stories of people that found out they were the chosen one and instead of being all "woe is me" go "Heck Yeah! " and get to work.
When it comes to voices
I like doing them... you will have to tell me if you think i am good at them.
kodie campbell's ideal table
A group of people not afraid to laugh about themselves. Able to joke around and have a good time but also know when to get serious and knuckle down to the game.

I love it when a player
Puts some work into making their character a part of the world.
I think metagaming...
is unavoidable to some extent and you should often keep in mind it goes both ways, more often then not the character has way more information and knowledge that the player does not.
I think min/maxing...
Can be a ton of fun. Bring back the 3.0/3.5 days of a stack of books piled 10 feat high and sorting though to find the perfect feat for my 10x mulit-classed character.
