I became a GM because
I enjoy hosting people, providing entertainment and seeing how each new choice changes the same story. Having to play by the book or adjust on the fly to create an interesting tale.
My favorite shows/movies are
The Umbrella Academy 3% The Good Place Bodies Bojack Horseman Wednesday Hazbin Hotel Helluva Boss The Amazing Digital Circus Soul Eater One Piece Into the Abyss
When I'm not running games I'm...
I create new campaigns, animations, video edits or fly my drone. I also enjoy playing chill cozy games like Sun Haven, Stardew Valley or BG3.
How Ravaneath runs games
Adaptable Campaigns - I maintain the core structure and tone of a campaign but I adjust presentation and pacing based on the party's play style, energy, personality. Meticulous Organiser - I enjoy preparing campaigns in advance with maps, encounters, NPCs and contingency plans. Controlled Chaos - I build time in the session for RP moments, player chaos and exploration. Cinematic Storytelling - I highlight important / emotional moments in detailed descriptions to enhance the scene and make the moment memorable and the player feel impactful and heroic. (Not every slained skeleton needs a large scale description) Adaptive Combat Style - The party dictates how combat is run: well thought out strategies and plans, fast paced, RP narrative with some key dice rolls, hybrid, evolving. Role Play Enthusiast - Role play is what gives the story and characters flavour. We're not just rolling dice, we're building a story together through collaboration, character interaction and meaningful decision making. Milestone Levelling - I use milestones to dictate when characters level up, not XP based.

I deal with rules issues by...
Briefly discussing the issue. If quick, then research the rule in the book. Address interpretations. If not enough time, then make a temporary ruling, subject to change after further research and debate.
I prep by
Reading ahead and pre-set the maps and encounters in Roll 20 before the campaign even starts. Also having a few side plans if things need adjusting ready to go whenever needed.
Rules are...
Be kind. Be respectful. Wait your turn, don't steal someone else's moment. Questions & debates are welcomed, within reason. Be mindful of everyone's time. No bigotry allowed!
Ravaneath's ideal table
I think humour and goofing around mixed with a some seriousness makes things fun, interesting but keep momentum going.

I am for a vibe that's...
cozy and cooperative.
I think it's a red flag when players...
use the "that's what my character would do" to argue when the choices they make negatively impacts the experience of others.
I think metagaming...
can get in the way of having fun. It's okay to know things but if your character wouldn't know them then they wouldn't.
