About Sam Ribero

Hi my name is samuel, I have been a DM for six years. I started playing DND when my foreign exchange students were having a hard time speaking english and having the confidence to explain themselves in school. It became something a lot more to us over time it became a way for them to learn and love the ability they were learning from us playing DND.

I became a GM because

I became a Game Master because no other hobby has ever created the kind of memories D&D does. I still remember the feeling of being completely pulled into a world with friends, staying up way too late after sessions talking about theories, favorite moments, terrible decisions.

People are always surprised when I tell them

People are often surprised by how much work I put into my campaigns outside the table. I spend a ridiculous amount of time building encounters, writing character arcs, designing memorable villains, finding music, improving maps, and making sure every session feels cinematic and meaningful.

When I'm not running games I'm...

If I’m not running D&D, I’m probably thinking about D&D, writing D&D, playing D&D, or accidentally turning a random movie scene into encounter inspiration. I love movies, mythology, fantasy, and good storytelling in general.

How Sam Ribero runs games

Our adventures are high-stakes experiences where every decision you make can shape the outcome. Victory isn’t handed to you—you earn it through strategy, teamwork, and learning how to use the world around you to your advantage. Knowing when to fight, when to flee, and how to adapt to the map can mean the difference between survival and defeat. I also create a wide variety of themed adventures inspired by different worlds and mythologies, including settings like Greek mythology and Star Wars.

My favorite trope is...

My favorite trope is heroes being forced to choose between what’s right, what’s necessary, and the people they love especially when there’s no perfect answer.

My games focus on...

At my table, roleplay is heavily rewarded, creativity is always encouraged, and characters are treated like the protagonists of the world rather than side characters following a script. I love giving players personal story arcs, impossible decisions, rivalries, betrayals.

Rules are...

Rules matter, but great stories matter more. I reward creativity, strong roleplay, teamwork, and bold decisions over perfect optimization. My games are challenging, cinematic, emotionally driven, and built around player choices that genuinely shape the world around them.

Sam Ribero's ideal table

I’m a DM who’s extremely quick on my feet, so creative players with strong character concepts tend to thrive at my table. I love when players surprise me, take risks, explore unexpected ideas, and fully commit to their characters because that’s usually when the story becomes unforgettable.

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table

If you’ve ever wanted to sit at a table where the entire party is dead silent because of one impossible decision… where a joke character somehow becomes everyone’s emotional favorite… where rivalries become friendships, friendships become family, and victories feel genuinely earned.

I love it when a player

I love when players fully commit to their characters, and surprise me with creative ideas I never could’ve planned for. Some of the best moments in D&D happen when players stop worrying about the “best” option and do what their character would do!

My table is not the place for...

My table is not the place for players who want to sit quietly in the background waiting for the story to happen around them. I love players who get invested, take risks, build relationships, make reckless decisions for emotional reasons, and fully throw themselves into the world and their character.
