About Madz
Heya! You can call me Madelyne, or Maddy if you prefer. I've been an avid TTRPG player since 2014, starting out as an overwhelmed teenager using pre-generated characters and learning how DnD5E works through a Starter's Set and Lost Mines of Phandelver. I've been a DM for D&D 5E since around 2018, on/off running games of Call of Cthulhu during that time as well. I've run successful campaigns for CAIN and Cyberpunk: RED in the past, and I've finished multiple D&D campaigns/one shots to rave reviews from my players. I've also been obsessed with Lancer and World of Darkness, and have been learning the systems as well to become a more proficient GM. I'm a huge dork with an interest in telling engrossing stories with my players, and I don't mind getting stuck into combat if that's what my players enjoy. Although I like being comedic, I also like to tell serious stories where the players have the chance to shine as whatever character they bring to the story. Ultimately I try to stay versatile in the kind of systems, stories, and genres I run so that I can better cater to my players. I will state upfront that I personally dislike AI and refuse to touch it, I'm also a queer GM who ensures that players feel seen and respected. I'm a neurodivergent woman who has run introductory games for kids, and years long campaigns for veterans. Regardless of a player's experience, identity, or playstyle I try to create a welcoming table. I'm new to paid GMing, but I hope to impress.

I started running games because...

How Madz runs games
I generally prefer to run games that put a spotlight on the players and their acting. I love helping to create a world where my party doesn't just feel connected to their characters, but to the NPCs and places we've made together season after season. As a GM, creating immersive fun for my players is critical. I want to ensure that everyone at the table or in the voice call is coming back for more and thinking about the plot threads they want to chase down. I try to keep combat fast and fluid for most games, but I also enjoy strategic play when running systems like Lancer. If my party wants a challenge, I am more than willing to craft battles and scenarios to put them through their paces and stress test their characters. My general preference for combat is to keep things fast, responsive, and descriptive with a manageable amount of unique enemies rather than a large swarm of individual low-level hostile NPCs.

Madz's ideal table
Excited and invested; drawn in and cheering each other on as the party. I like players who're willing to get into character or express their feelings as they delve dungeons and solve problems.
