About Ryan

I’ve been professionally GMing since 2020 and have run multiple weekly games ever since. Over that time, I’ve completed multiple full-length D&D 5e campaigns from level 1 to 20, along with many shorter adventures, one-shots, and ongoing homebrew campaigns. I take pride in creating games that are consistent, welcoming, and memorable for the players who choose to play at my tables. My GM style focuses on character-driven storytelling, meaningful choices, cinematic encounters, and emotional payoffs that feel earned. I love giving players the freedom to shape the world around them, whether that means heroic triumph, tragic sacrifice, political intrigue, divine drama, or just a great rule-of-cool moment the table will still be laughing about months later. My first major campaign was a homebrew Greek mythology adventure, and that style of mythic fantasy has become one of my specialties. Over the years, I’ve refined that campaign into something I’m very proud of, while also running traditional high fantasy, high level, long-form campaigns with story arcs that focus on player character backstories. At my table, players can expect clear communication, respect for boundaries, reliable scheduling, and a GM who genuinely cares about making every session worth showing up for.

Interview with the Vampire, The Dangerous Days of Daniel X, and Song of Achilles. I also just finished a Warhammer 40K book called Son of the Forest. I really enjoyed it!

How Ryan runs games

My games are story-driven first and foremost. I believe the most memorable moments in tabletop RPGs aren't found on a character sheet, but in the choices characters make when they're tested and challenged to grow. Players can expect rich roleplay, meaningful character arcs, memorable villains, and a world filled with NPCs who have their own goals, personalities, and motivations. I work hard to ensure every player has opportunities to shine, whether that's through heroic victories, difficult moral choices, personal story moments, or scenes that reveal who their character truly is beneath the spells and armor. Combat in my games is cinematic, dangerous, and purposeful. I enjoy creating encounters that challenge players to think creatively rather than simply trade attacks until one side falls over. Victory should feel earned, and setbacks should create new opportunities for great storytelling. Above all, I want players to feel like the protagonists of an epic fantasy story. Powerful allies may guide or support the party, but the player characters are the heroes. Their choices matter, their victories belong to them, and the world changes because of what they do. My tables are built for collaborative worldbuilding, adventures where the player's decisions genuinely matter, and everyone ends their sessions hoping for next week to come sooner.
