About Sean
I have been a Game Master for 10+ years. I fell in love with TTRPG's in college when my friends wanted to play Pathfinder 1E and they needed a game master and I volunteered. I always preferred being the game master because I love weaving together stories, enjoy the challenge of keeping players engaged and wanting more, and bringing characters and settings to life. I primarily play Delta Green at this time but have years of experience with Pathfinder 1E, 2E and DnD 5E.

My favorite books are
Annihilation, George Smiley Novels, A Song of Ice and Fire, The Stormlight Archive, H.P. Lovecraft Collection, Brave New World, The Stand, Salems Lot. I also love history and politics, my interests are all over the place!
My favorite shows/movies are
In no particular order... Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, The Sopranos, Andor, Scrubs, Community, The Wire, Succession, Seinfeld, Hannibal.
My favorite system of all Time is
Delta Green takes the cake for me, I love playing in modern settings where personal experience can influence the setting and locations in ways that Fantasy roleplaying sometimes struggles to do.
How Sean runs games
I plan and run my games as a collaborative story with the players. This means that, while I put a lot of time into prepping sessions and scenarios, I put a lot of emphasis on improve and rolling with the flow of the players. This is also thier story, and rail road I do not. The games that I run are usually gritty, grounded, and a stronger emphasis on rich story, character development and roleplay with a secondary emphasis on slow burn, chunky combat.

I deal with rules issues by...
I love a tabletop discussion, some rules lawyering within reason, and my goal is for the players to have fun. The GM always has the final say, but if a ruling doesn't go your way this time, I will be looking for ways to throw you a bone in the future and make sure everyone is enjoying themselves.
If my games were Movies they'd be directed by...
Vince Gilligan. I love his story telling style, and how he sets things up throughout his episodes. I try to emulate his foreshadowing in my games, and often take a cinematic approach to setting scenes while playing.
When it comes to voices
I believe that the GM really has to set the tone, so I will never shy away from using voices or committing to a roleplay scene.
Sean's ideal table
My tables have always worked best when their is improve on both sides of the screen and when players want to drive the story forward. I prep with player initiative in mind, and am fine with throwing out my prep because the players are turning down a rabbit hole. I designate a player to take notes in a google doc, sharing with all players I designate a player to handle loot, I have an excel loot sheet that can help with this. (More applicable in fantasy settings). I want all players to have a chance to shine, so I keep an eye on who is talking and who is not, and will help out players who are sturggling to jump into the spotlight.

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table
Roleplaying and discovering your character a little more each session.
I love it when a player
is excited to play and feels comfortable in roleplay, cracks some jokes, and loses track of time.
I think min/maxing...
Is usually kind of lame. Stories are found in a characters flaws and failures, and some of my most meaningful sessions have involved characters deaths.
