About Jay

Greetings! I am a moderately experienced GM who has a love for fantasy/Sci-Fi and a fascination with horror. I give a great thanks to my uncle who started my nerd path by introducing me to TV shows like Masters of the Universe and videogames like Sacred, King's field, Eternal Ring, Diablo, Elder Scrolls and much more! He cultivated an ever growing sense for exploration and wonder and I strive to recreate that feeling for my players in my games so they can remain in touch with their inner child! I have spent most my time as a GM and homebrewing content across various systems such as Dungeons and Dragons 5e, Pathfinder 2e, Call of Cthulhu, Kids on Bikes, and Daggerheart. Worldbuilding is my creative outlet but I have recently discovered the greatness of modifying pre-written content to suit our games. Fun Facts: I have a tortoiseshell cat named Juniper I have many dice of various colors, sizes, and materials I collect comics of all kinds

How Jay runs games

I enjoy player driven narratives in a world that reacts to your choices. I will get into character for the NPC's you interact with and create unique challenges for you to overcome: combat, social, puzzles, dungeon crawls, and exploration. I prepare scenarios for you to interact with that are free of prewritten outcomes; the world is ours.

My games focus on...

Player driven stories where choices matter and actively influence what may happen next.

Rules are...

amazing to ground the narrative in something solid but useless once they get in the way of fun. I always reference the rules but try not to get bogged down in mechanics.

When it comes to voices

I do them all! I am not shy and will get into character and I am pretty good. I must stress that this is for the sake of entertainment and immersion rather and I am not putting on a professional drama performance. This is a game after all, not theater!

Jay's ideal table

Featured Prompts

I love it when a player

Asks questions and uplifts other members at the table. I want my players to celebrate with one another when their characters shine.

I think min/maxing...

is not my personal taste. I personally think it is the wrong way of thinking about your character and the game. It engages with your character in the meta sense much more than the narrative sense. I would much rather my players think about their character's experiences, habits, and attitude.

My table is not the place for...

bigotry such as anti LGBTQ+ sentiment and racism, politics, people with boisterous and interruptive remarks. General rule is to be the good kind of weird and don't be a nasty person to others. My table is our collective creative space and we will not tolerate peacebreakers.
