About Philippe
I got into the hobby about ten years ago as a way to release some creative energy while studying. I found myself immediately as my friends' forever DM and have not looked back since ! I have taught the majority of my players how to play D&D and have always had good experiences with new players. Most of my experience comes from D&D 5E, but I have been slowly getting into Daggerheart lately.

I got started GMing...
...by teaching six of my best friends how to play D&D while I was still learning the game myself. This would lead to my first campaign with them.
My favorite books are
Project Hail Mary, A Song of Ice and Fire, Percy Jackson, Skullduggery Pleasant, Harry Potter... Just started the Cosmere saga and love it so far !!
People are always surprised when I tell them
...that I ran a game for my colleague in the jungle where we were working with chimpanzees.
How Philippe runs games
First and foremost, I DM by the rule of cool. Everyone is here to have a good time, and I try to enable this whenever possible. Besides that my DM style revolves (especially for campaigns) heavily around involving the player characters in the story. I try to find balanced games where exploration, combat, and social interactions naturally intertwine. But I have to say, my favorite thing about TTRPGs is just seeing where the group's creativity will take the story, and letting the chaos unfold. Although this approach may have led to premature ends of prepared plot threads from time to time...

My games focus on...
...the player characters. While I think it's important to set up a good premise for a campaign or one-shot, I love involving the PCs' backstories into my stories.
When it comes to voices
...I got the best French and German accents !
Philippe's ideal table
I think my DMing style fits many players, and I thoroughly enjoy playing with everyone who is here to have fun and to let others have their fun as well ! I enjoy the improvisational back-and-forth during social encounters and believe that if you enjoy the social aspect, my tables will be a great fit for you. I do like to keep the things around the table quite light-hearted, but for these things not to distract from the game we are playing.

I love it when a player
...starts a statement with "Ok, this might be a little crazy, but I got an idea." Whatever follows never disappoints (although the dice roll might) !
I think it's a red flag when players...
...constantly interrupt others, put them down, have to be part of every scene, or in short: any main-character-behavior. TTRPGs are not the place for this !
