About Troy
My name is Troy, and I’ve been playing D&D since the original box sets in the early 1980s. I value player agency above all and believe the table should be a respectful, fun space for everyone. I run a mix of homebrew content and published modules, adapting to player preferences and avoiding themes they dislike. I set flexible, open guidelines based on group chemistry and typically run PG–PG-13 games, steering clear of adult or graphic content. My campaigns are set in the Forgotten Realms along the Sword Coast, and I enjoy everything from classic dungeon crawls to city-focused adventures. I’m happy to support new players and can zoom in on details or stay big-picture, depending on what the group wants.

I got started GMing...
I started GMing when it was called DMing. From OG box sets and using Crayons to color in the dice numbers to vibing with some cool cats on Fantasy Grounds chatting in up on Discord. "Let me tell you of the days of high adventure"
How Troy runs games
Players can expect focused attention on their characters from creation and backstory through growth from local heroes to legendary archetypes. I play within the standard 5e rules, with select custom options for character creation, crafting, downtime activities, and critical hits and fumbles. I enjoy challenging strategy and tactical play and know how to scale it appropriately. I draw on decades of lore to make traps, side quests, and dungeon crawls engaging. Above all, I’m adaptable, patient, and innovative. Past games have included long chases, ship races, mini-games, casino nights, and even a character-creation snake draft inspired by D&D and NFL fantasy football. I mix inside- and outside-the-box thinking and have extensive, ready-to-run content in Fantasy Grounds (now free to play).

Rules are...
I typically operate and ref the rules as written, however I am flexible and love to see a great plan, strategy, idea, action that compels me to bend and even break the rules as the game flow may lead us. I am a big fan of the "Rule of Cool"
Troy's ideal table
My ideal table would have 5 players who loved playing D&D. They are into developing their characters throughout the campaign. These five laid back players would respect and treat each other kindly with temperance always assuming positive intent when disagreements/misunderstandings arise.

I think it's a red flag when players...
Press their ideals, values, beliefs, politics, drama, on others during a session. Let's just role some dice, have fun, and escape our lives for 4-6 hours slay the dragon and kick it at the Green Dragon Inn afterwards.... to be continued.
