About Kona kuma
I have been GMing for over 10 years. Fantasy tends to be my go too but I do enjoy horror. I love world building and capturing that feeling that the world is alive. I like realism in my games but don’t let it get in the way of having fun. And I recognize that A good laugh at a table can make a game all the more memorable. I try to not tell my players no, within reason, when it comes to things they want to do. Because this is a fantastical fun setting and I want to encourage creative and unique ways to solve / resolve conflicts. However I try to remind my players that there are always consequences for their actions both good and bad. I find that that helps keep the world feeling alive. And in some cases keep the players from getting to out of pocket. This is a cooperative story telling game played input and action helps make the game more interesting and fun.

I became a GM because
I live storytelling and world building. My degree is in Sequential Art which is the art of storytelling through storyboards, comics, concept design ect. So GMing came very naturally to me. And has become one of my passions.
The three words my players would use to describe me are...
Fun, engaging, silly
When I'm not running games I'm...
Drawing and creating comics. Playing video games, cleaning the house, being tricked into partaking in an elaborate scheme by my corgi, eating.
How Kona kuma runs games
I love roleplay, it’s one of my favorite aspects of any game. The little moments between players and players and the gm can make the most memorable moments in game. but i also love a good combat. I try to keep my combat challenging and engaging. And I love some good exploration making secret spots and locations for my players to discover. I love lore and world building and find that the best way for players to discover what I’ve made is through natural exploration and roleplay and not some large exposition dump. Even combat can reveal aspects of the world.

I once ran a session...
Where all the players where wild mages and it was pure chaos but also so much fun. We all knew that at any moment it could all come crashing down and we were so ready for it. A true roller coaster of a game.
My favorite trope is...
When the villain becomes the heroes friend because they realize the hero actually can make the world a better place and fight what the villian was fighting.
When it comes to voices
I love doing voices. Both serious and silly. They help break the ice and make the game more enjoyable. They also help you remember characters.
Kona kuma's ideal table
I love players who enjoy roleplay but also enjoy a good combat. I like rewarding exploration as I find it’s the best way to discover aspects of the world I made without exposition dumping.

I am for a vibe that's...
Fun, engaging and ready for laughs. Seriousness gets you invested but laughs keep you coming back for more.
I love it when a player
Matches my energy in a roleplay or combat encounter. When a players knows how to get into character but also when to get out of character.
I think min/maxing...
Can be fun when you have a very specific character in mind but don’t let it get in the way of having fun. We aren’t here to win we are here to have fun make memories and enjoy the game.
